'Staff was friendly, the room was clean. The things I didn’t like, was the parking lot wasn’t plowed properly, it was chunked up with ice which made it hard to carry things back and fourth let alone walking out to the car was difficult. The water from the faucets had an aweful taste, they had a vending machine but it was empty. They offered a filtered water option at the front desk but that wasn’t working either. They did have wifi but the TVs weren’t setup to use it, they did have cable but if...

'The newly renovated lobby was beautiful. It was a very nice place to sit and wait for the rest of our group when we were heading out. The rooms were very clean and housekeeping did a great job every day. The bar and restaurant for breakfast had great wait staff and good offerings. The only negative was no elevator to get to the second floor. The gentleman working the front desk did help us bring some of the luggage up, however. I would definitely go stay there again.'

'It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter.
