'The house is lovely, with a kitchen dreams are made of — great for cooking, conversing, and eating. Tons of space, everything you could possibly need to cook or bake, and plenty of storage in the cabinets and pantry for all your snacks and ingredients.The fire pit in the front yard was perfect for roasting marshmallows (the provided camp chairs and corn hole set made it even better), and the picnic table next to the grill was great for sitting outside while the burgers were on. 'My husband and I stayed here on our way back to Long Island after a family wedding. The house was very clean and just right for the two of us. A little hint going forward, pick up any food you need at LaPlanta. There are only small markets close to the house and are quite pricey. If you are looking for a relaxing leave the world behind place to stay, this is the place for you.'

'A huge group of friends and family spent 4th of July weekend here and we had a blast. Everyone had their own space. The home was beautiful and clean. It has everything you could possibly need - whether for cooking, entertainment, relaxing, or washing up. This area of the lake is quiet with not much water traffic. Views from the balconies or through the big windows never got old. Even with a rainy afternoon, the whole group had plenty to do inside. Communication with the host was consistent,...

'Our family had a wonderful time at this house. Everyone had a place to go to if they needed a break from the large family chaos. Everything thing worked well, but the dryer needs some maintenance. Some instructions about the upstairs air-conditioning would be helpful. We were very pleased with the accommodations and the availability of floats and life vests! '

'Great lake front home! Plenty of room for us to enjoy spring break with pur 4 grandsons. They enjoyed fishing, kayaking & playing on the beach. Kitchen had everything we needed & kids lived all the games in the basement. We hope to return!'

'The recently updated Blue Heron Cottage was neat and clean and the beds were truly comfortable. The cottage is just a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Colonial Beach. The attractions at Westmoreland State Park, including Fossil Beach, are a short drive away.'

'This marks the fourth time we’ve stayed at this home for our vacation and we keep coming back. We love the home and the land. It’s perfect for renting a boat to do fishing or water sports for the day or week. We like the outdoor awning when we’re sitting down midday to take a break from swimming or boating. The older kids (adults) like to hang out in the downstairs game room. '

"I love the TRU by Hilton chain! The hotels are fresh and looking modern and young. They’re clean and are also focused on younger people who do remote working. I always book a hotel from that chain and the one in Ashland was no exception. Breakfast is typically US, so not the best but super bad either."
