'We stayed for two nights. We loved being downtown McGregor. We could walk to our favorite places, plus Kwik Star is right across the street. The hosts were very helpful. Having the Sweet Shoppe in the same building was a wonderful bonus!'

'We could not have asked for a better place, very comfortable, spacious, a very welcoming host (even invited us to dinner at his son’s restaurant), but the best part was an amazing property. If you love old farm houses this as good as it gets!We did the Driftless 100 in Elkader and stayed 2 nights maximizing everything from the modern kitchen to the comfy living room & beds to a perfectly placed fire pit to watch the sunset and sip bourbon after the race. '

'This unique place has it all: charm, class, comfort, beauty, and fun. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous staircase leading to most of the rooms. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious bathroom. The gourmet kitchen is equipped for anything and everything with seating for eight. The adjoining dining room has a large table with additional seating and windows lining two walls. And clean! This VRBO was impressively clean! I have to say the jail was a little eery after dark, but...

'We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!'

'The home was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the small towns in the surrounding area. It was nice to get out of the big city and relax. 'Traveled to Dubuque for a family reunion at Eagle Point Park over the weekend. We had 10 people so with the fold-out couch in the lower level, everyone had a bed. No excuse not to go to church Sunday morning - Cathedral right across the street! Had a great stay in this older townhome floor plan that has been updated and equipped with modern appliances. Very clean and would stay again. '

'Everything worked out well and was as expected. The home is charming and has a vintage feel with a lot of character. Very clean and stocked with all the necessities. There was a musty smell when we arrived but it was probably because it was 98deg outside with 1000% humidity. It was in the ideal location for our event. Easily accessible.
