'Although a little difficult to find as next to the A31 does not mean it is easy to approach, it was not sign-posted as such. Beside the thorough road has avantages when travelling. The striking building itself is changed on the inside to house a modern hotel. Parking space is available in good quality and quantity.The stay was comfortable with a clean and modern room, the bathroom was also up to mark. The staff was helpfull, but the internet/payTV system needs some attention by either the guest...

'The reception/bar/breakfast room staff was very helpful. It is a little bit in the middle of nowhere, but a taxi ride of 15 min was worth the location/staff. Only bar can be opened longer!'

'Goed verblijf gehad. Derde bed in de kamer is slaapbank waar je niet te veel nachten op moet willen slapen. Ook zitten op de bank is niet echt aangenaam. Heerlijke douche (in bad). Wel jammer dat de vele spinnenwebben in de kamer ondanks herhaalde opmerkingen niet werden verwijderd. '

'Goed gelegen in het centrum, kamer was klein, doch netjes. Ontbijt was prima en goede (gratis) parkeer mogelijkheid.Prijs/kwaliteit is goed.'

'Leuk hotel, oude klassieke allure, maar in de huidige tijd 'gewoon'. Prima voor een verblijf van een dag of twee. Wisselende bejegening van het personeel. Van "ik doe het hoognodige en kijk je echt niet aan" tot vriendelijk.'

'De beloofde "beroemde Hypnos" bedden hebben wij niet als zodanig ervaren. De stalen veren in het matras waren helaas goed voelbaar...Ook het avondeten voldeed niet aan de verwachting. De tafel was plakkerig, de hamburger droop letterlijk van het vet en de friet was ronduit slap! De salade was zonder enige dressing! Verder was alles zoals verwacht.'

'Been there before and know Alton. Great place to stay. Pub downstairs. Pub is not too big to be too noisy. Breakfast is a amazing. Had a large single room. Will stay there again. Only one little thing: wish there would have been a shower curtain to prevent water on bathroom floor.'

'I quickly felt at home after kind help with parking and efficient system of registering at reception. Was very pleased with the room - bright, airy and clean with fresh shower room with window, good supply of soft clean, white towels and bath lotions. Surprisingly comfortable wide single bed with good duvet and pillows in crisp white linen. Simple accommodation just right for my needs at a very reasonable price.'

"Het hotel zag er leuk en modern uit en het publiek was gemêleerd qua leeftijd e.d., dus is fijn voor iedereen. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ontbijt was prima, niet uitzonderlijk, maar gewoon goed. Er was altijd plek om lekker te zitten. De bedden vonden we wat aan de zachte kant en het was redelijk warm in de kamer. Een raam openen gaf dan wel weer wat verkeersgeluiden, maar al met al prima voor een weekendje weg om als uitvalsbasis te fungeren om in de omgeving dingen te gaan bekijken. Een kwartier lopen naar het treinstation, maar neem vooral een Bolt taxi: amper duurder en veel sneller!!"
