'We wanted quiet, peaceful, beautiful, unique and considerate and that’s what we got. To be woken up by pheasants and lambs, dinner at The Plough, logs being burnt inside and out and amazing views and walks… it was all there.'

An idyllic treat set in stunning surroundings with personal and sole use of a hot tub and indoor swimming pool.Warmly welcomed by Karen on arrival.Blackthorns is spotlessly clean, has everything you could possibly need.Eggs, milk, biscuits, tea & coffee all supplied.We will definitely be returning and our adult children too.Thank you once again Karen & Peter for our Wonderful stay.'

'This is a lovely place to stay. Stuart greeted us on arrival and the Loft was warm and cosy with everything we needed including a basket of treats and eggs for breakfast. There are lovely views of the grounds and countryside. Nice walks from the property and Rye is close by car. Would thoroughly recommend. '

'Wij hebben deze vakantie woning als heel goed en netjes ervaren . Alles zag er netjes en degelijk uit. Het ontbrak er aan niets . Super naar ons zin gehad, en zeker de hond . Die heeft de tijd van zn leven gehad . Deur uit zo het strand op en het water in. Omgeving was ook mooi en heerlijk over het strand kunnen wandelen . Echt top!!! '

'comms were missed and not responded to. internet info was outdated and did not work. dated decor - grounds were tired, leaking shower tray, dated carpets and lights, no coffee machine '

'The cabin was so elegantly designed, and beautiful, including a sweet whimsy: little Starlights above the bed! Very comfortable bed, great shower, cozy and well appointed. It had a pocket meadow in front, as a shepherd's hut would, the sheep next door baaed cheerfully. Janet has the Most Beautiful Rose garden, and a lovely White garden-- best of both gardening worlds! Janet is charming and caring. It was a lovely place to stay, so close to Great Dixter Gardens! '

'We enjoyed this charming little cottage in the center of historical Rye. It was clean, good wifi (important for the kids) and the host reacted fast on my questions. My only remarks, with 4 people an extra comfortable chair would be welcome and we prefer a larger double bed. The short term parking in front of the cottage is convenient to drop off your luggage, there are many longer term car parks only a couple of minutes away. With the beach of Amber, the nature reserve and also Hastings...

'We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!'

"Oude kamers met gescheurde muren. Nog geen stoel op de hotelkamer. Verder zeer gehorig. In het dorp is niets. "

"After changing our room we had an excellent stay. Please note that if you book two single beds and a walk-in shower, you will not stay in the old part of the hotel. That part dates from 1600 and is really beautiful with its history. Very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended."
