'This cottage is located in a beautiful area with lots of hiking/ walking possibilities. kids could play nearby the river Esk or surrouding streams and forrest. The cottage also have a very nice garden with a possibility to BBQ or sit. There is nothing what we misses in this cottage, nice beds, very quiet area, really good equipped kitchen, lots of towels. 'Love love love! Dec-2018: Stayed for 2-nts with the family (6 adults and 5 (all under 9yrs) children) and loved the location, space and freedom that Cumnock Knowes afforded us. You can't miss the property as it stands proud on the horizon as you drive south, out of Carsphairn. The woodland that has been removed from around the house would have offered some protection from the elements, but the views from every window were fantastic - hopefully replanting is in the plans for the future. 'The house was an ideal setting to see in the new year. The area has lots of interesting walks and cycling routes. The hosts provided plenty communication ahead of the booking and accomodated for our youngest guest (1 year old). The property could benefit from a few more kitchen essentials (bin bags, dish clothes etc), but this a wasn't major issue. All in all, a really nice stay.'

'Excellent all round! Cottage and location - tucked into the peaceful countryside. Contemporary decor but still a cosy and welcoming space with lovely views of green hills. We had everything we needed and Charles couldn’t have been more helpful! We even saw the promised deer and little resident vole!'
