'We had no choice as there was no where else in Burra. Previous reviews had complained about a step in a dark corridor and nothing had been done to fix this problem and my partner also missed this step and stumbled. At least some yellow tape on the step would help. The corridors are stacked with old boxes and other bits of junk. You do get what you pay for and the room is simply furnished. At least the room was warm. The meal however was wonderful. Would eat there any time'

'Highly recommend this Historic Cottage . Near town (walking distance) and serene. Beautiful gardens compliment this house . Everything we needed was there. Beds comfortable, warm, it has a fireplace but we didnt use it. Functional kitchen , and nice relaxing lounge area. So much History in this cottage and an EX Premier of the state owned it at one point . Plenty to see in the town , grab the Burra Pass, its well worth it. Very clean and neat place . '

'There is so much that is amazing at Dove Cottage. Its all about the location, its beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, tranquil.It had everything that you could want. A cosy wood fire, gorgeous surroundings, beautiful kitchen with everything you will need, including the elegant glassware, Robert Gordon Diner set and the stunning stoneware.The gardens are lovely, it had a very nice vibe on the property.The communication with the owner was perfect. 'This property was exceptionally clean including all crockery and cutlery. It had the charm of a heritage building combined with the basic elements to make our stay a pleasant one. One bathroom with toilet within may be a consideration for some. The grounds are lovely with a great bbq entertaining area that would be excellent in the warmer months. '

'Loved Cartapo Cottage. Proper quiet, surrounded by gums, galahs, and open land. The night sky was unreal — completely dark and full of stars.Clean, comfortable, and everything was easy. Chloe & Oliver were genuinely warm and welcoming too. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful escape! '
