'The house is situated in a quiet, peaceful location with an incredible view. We watched lobster boats come and go and seals fishing in the bay. A fantastic place to spend a few days! The house is small and no-frills, but clean, comfortable and well-maintained. We appreciated how it was far enough from Bar Harbor to avoid the August crowds, but close enough to go there for the day. Check in/out was straightforward, and communication was excellent.'

'The location is gorgeous with plenty of nearby walks, hikes, and interesting places to keep us busy. We saw deer, eagles and turkeys on the property. The cottage was clean and comfortable. It was quiet—at times we could hear the ocean from Pigeon Hill Bay just down the embankment across the road. Perfect in every way!'

'It’s name says it all. A perfectly sized, literal “bed room” in the middle of the woods. The fire pit had wood all ready for me to use. If you were to come in the winter, the tiny home has a wood stove to use as well.'

'This was a return visit for us. Lovely, spacious, well-appointed home in a very private, quiet location. It is a great home base for exploring the area - Cutler, Lubec, Campobello, Eastport, Cobscook Bay, Schoodic Point. Lots of hiking trails for all abilities with stunning scenery. Machias is convenient for restaurants and food shopping, gas stations, etc. The owner and the property manager are terrific & very helpful. Highly recommend!'

'Loved this cottage for its beautiful yard (esp. hydrangeas and field), glorious views from the master bedroom and proximity to the West Quoddy State Park. The trails at Quoddy were superb and the striped lighthouse was a bonus (go for a sunset!). Campobello Island in Canada is nearby. A 30-minute-ish tour of FDR’s summer cottage on the island was worthwhile. (No entry fees. Bring your passport.) Watch “Sunrise at Campobello” DVD at the cottage before going. It tells the story of Franklin D....

'Fantastic spot, even better than we expected! Perfect for 4 friends and 2 dogs, walking distance to everything with seals to greet us in the morning at beach just steps from the house. Very clean with everything we needed to enjoy our stay.'

'My wife and I felt very lucky to have found The Miners Den which is a very new creation of a great proprietor who really cares about your experience.The hand built cabin is gently fitted to the landscape of balsam firs and hardwoods with a light touch.It reminded me of the few small cabins in the White Mountains you find along the trails.Everything you need less food is provided.For a couple in their sixties with a friendly dog we will be excited to get back there and see what’s happening.Oh...

'Amazing property! Photos don't capture the beauty of this place. Inside of cabin is unbelievable. Modern fixtures, incredible ceiling fans, light dimmer on all overhead lights, sky lights, large windows and a beautiful bathroom. I could go on. Fully stocked with everything you need, just bring food. To say my dogs enjoyed their stay would be an understatement. Back deck is gated and a great place for the dogs to chill and dry off without worrying about them. The host, Anne, was super nice and...
