'We had an efficiency room (Queen bed & kitchenette). It is very cozy (not a lot of room) but fine for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful.'

'Such an amazing place. Ideal getaway into the mountains while also being within 30 mins of food/entertainment. Glad these places are still intact after the hurricane. It’s on a one room cabin, but has everything you need. Fire pit along the quiet rolling river couldn’t of been better!'

'For the cost of what we paid for the rental, it was fantastic. It has 2 great outdoor spaces, with a top and lower deck. It is small, but enough space for what we needed. It needs a few simple things, that I noticed others mention, like more towels. We are 60 guest and had to maneuver to get up the outdoor steps and to get in to the high ledge bath tub/showers. We found the furniture and beds comfortable. The kitchen had just about anything you could use, but a big pot to boil spaghetti. We...

'This was our second stay at the cabin my son and I loved it. We spent pretty much the whole time at the cabin just hanging out and watching movies. '

'We booked this house for our party of 12 including adults, teenagers, and young children. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful decor, serene location, proximity to activities, and included amenities. The kids loved the arcade game and pool table while the adults were grateful for the well stocked kitchen. When several problems popped up (electrical upstairs and missing bedding for the rollaway bed,) the call center arranged for a quick response. Deer were spotted around the cabin and the fire pits...

'Our stay at the Great Escape Lodge was fantastic! The house is a magnificent historical structure. All rooms were ready and perfect for our arrival (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc...all perfect). We grilled and shared stories and good laughs on the back deck. The living room was perfect for all of us to catch up after a day of activities and share our adventures. 'Everything was seamless from check in to check out. The owners are wonderful, even calling me a couple days before to let me know about an HVAC issue and our options surrounding that. The cabin was very clean and updated and had everything we needed and more. All of the furniture was comfortable and well maintained. Our favorite thing to do during our stay was sit on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view and watch the thunderstorms. We will definitely be returning '

'We loved the attention to detail with the decor of the room. It reminded us of luxury safari tents. The bed was comfortable; the coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator were useful, and the ambience was fantastic. The only downside is having the restroom up the hill, but the restroom was clean and included nice showers. I would definitely stay in the tent again, though it would be nice to stay for a longer time.'

'This was such a treat for my little family. Located way up high in the mountains and deer everywhere. Super cozy and clean!!! Loved being able to have a fire for smores. Gary was super responsive. Quite a gem!!! '

"One night stay here after staying at their sister hotel in Raleigh. The property itself is fine but no atmosphere compared to Raleigh. Easy parking, clean and comfortable room. Not much to do within walking distance, except a burger takeaway. We tried to walk to a nearby microbrewery. It should've been a 5 minute walk, but we found it impossible to cross the 6-lane highway in front of the motel so gave up and went back to our room. Maybe, as Europeans, we're not used to the American way of driving everywhere, but to visit a brewery, walking would seem a safer option. Pleasant enough motel but not sure we'd return."
