'We wish we could live at Rita’s retreat all the time! Our room was nice and cozy. The backyard is so spacious and peaceful all the way down to the water. The indoor saltwater pool was icing on the cake! Mike was very accommodating, helpful and fun to talk to— I recommend Rita’s Retreat!'

'We celebrated my parents 70th anniversary at Rita's. We had the entire place. This is a very large property and it was perfect for our event. Very clean and well equipped. Mike the maintenance man stopped by to ensure all was good and said to call at any time if we needed anything. The pool was amazing and was loved by all from my 8 month old great grandson to my 89 year old mom. The young adults loved all the room for lawn games and the fire pit at night. Everyone is already talking...

'We enjoyed or stay and the view was terrific. Deck furniture was comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Owner says she is eliminating washcloths but when we asked she provided a couple more. What would have made our stay better would have been a washer/dryer available and access to that beautiful upstairs bathroom off the master bedroom which made that nice bedroom unusable with only toilet and sink available.'

'This place is truly amazing! We were greeted by one of the owners who went over the specifics. He pointed out an eagle sitting in a nearby tree just waiting for her dinner to swim by in the river bordering the yurt. So comfy, quiet and secluded. I would definitely stay here again.'

'Came for two nights, family of four. The cottage itself is very basic and rustic, although views on water are beautiful. The whole experience was negative for us after realizing that we were charged double the nightly rate we booked as well as being charged in USD instead of CAD as we had booked. Rates were changed and charged without our consent. The situation soured our experience considerably. Definitely do not recommend this property nor the platform.'

'We felt the lockbox was on the wrong door and we had a hard time finding the right door. It was around the opposite side of the house. The key is accessed inside the lock box. The kitchen was well equipped and pleasant to use. One suggestion would be to inform incoming guests that the coffee maker was a keurig.'

'Everything was excellent we had fun and enjoyed the pool. Our section was very spacious and enough room for the 4 of us. Very nice location and close drive into Sydney. Only feedback I have is there was not enough pots & pans to cook properly and adding more cooking utensils.'

'This is a lovely apartment right in the heart of Baddeck. It was very comfortable and well set up, and the host, Courtney was great. It was just a few minutes walk to a number of great restaurants. I'd like to especially call out Tom's Pizza - the pizza is amazing, and so is the value. It's just a minute up the street. We were lucky enough to be in Baddeck for the Prom Parade, Canada Day, and Kitchenfest - and heard some amazing musid. Baddeck is perfectly located to get to almost everything on...

'I honestly cannot say one bad thing. We rented the chalet for 4 days and our experience was fantastic. The owners were prompt in responding to any question we had. The view was absolutely incredible. We loved it! We will rent again. '

'A gem of a property on a pristine, serene lake---with every amenity imaginable. Gazebo for lake gazing , dock for swimming and canoeing , easy paddle boat , vegetable gardens , cleared walkways , vista spots to special views and meditating ... and that's just the outdoors. Inside are designer touches, new appliances, stylish furniture, natural light, large rooms, and a great bed. And best of all the hosts who love this place and love sharing it. We felt blessed.'

'This was a great adventure. It might not be for everyone but it sure was for us. There is a bit of a hike to the yurt, which made for a peaceful and secluded stay. Andrea and Clay greeted us and showed us around the place which was beautiful. There is a river right out the door that we swam in, and the yurt was so cozy inside.'

'Beautiful cozy '

'Secluded and peaceful. It was everything that we needed in a quick weekend getaway. The view was spectacular from the deck and hot tub. We loved how quiet and peaceful it was. No cell service, let us put our phones down and truly relax (wifi was great and the signal was strong). Christoph was helpful, he called and emailed to ensure we had directions. Awesome, relaxing trip, we plan to come back again!'

"Nice town with interesting history like the inventor Bell who lived near the town. The hotel is good. It has a nostalgic vibe. The staff is friendly, room was clean and spacious. The wifi non existent but that’s alright. Breakfast was not included and we opted for the buffet which was $20. Quite okay these days. "
