Cecil's Chair - Blackheath Cottage with a View Welcome to Cecil's Chair, a three-bedroom and two-bathroom cottage that is located in Blackheath in greater Sydney's famous Blue Mountains . 'The house with a view' is located in an area known locally as 'Paradise Hill'; it backs directly onto Porter's Pass and offers breathtakingly beautiful uninterrupted views over the Kanimbla Valley. Cecil's Chair is perfect for couples or group retreats. It boasts one King bedroom, two Queen bedrooms, three sitting areas and two bathrooms both equipped with spa-baths. Simply relax in the sitting room watching the mist lift over the valley in the morning or the sun setting in the evening. Enjoy cooking a meal in the well equipped kitchen, take advantage of the culinary delights and shopping in Blackheath and surrounds or take a walk along Porter's Pass, with the start of this bushwalk 100 metres from the front door. With a comfortable perch on Cecil's Chair you can immerse yourself in everything the Blue Mountains has to offer. If you are seeking a more adventuress experience you may consider para-gliding off Mount Blackheath, rock climbing at one of the numerous climbs accessed from Blackheath or abseiling and horse riding. For a more relaxing escape, enjoying the peaceful and varied village atmosphere or simply soak in the master spa and take in the views! Cecil’s chair is een prachtig gelegen huis, op een van de mooiste plekken van het dorp. Het uitzicht is echt super, waar je zowel binnen als buiten enorm van kunt genieten. De foto’s op de site geven een realistisch beeld van het huis. Wat echter niet goed op de foto’s staat is het terras, maar dat is er wel. Vrij groot met een gasbarbecue en daar kun je de zonsondergang goed zien. Wij kwamen na drie weken rondreis door Zuid-Australië hier echt tot rust. Het comfort is prima, er zijn maar liefst drie slaapkamers, en er kunnen zonder problemen zes mensen in. De uitrusting in de keuken is uitgebreid, dus er is niet bezuinigd op pannen, ovenschalen enz. Er ligt ook veel informatie over de omgeving, waaronder een boek met de mooiste wandelingen in de omgeving. Heel handig. Wel geeft de tv maar drie zenders, maar dat vonden we niet erg. Reden juist om grote wandelingen te maken, want dat kan daar eindeloos. Neem wel een goede conditie mee en stevige knieën; de rondwandeling door de canyon, die zeer de moeite waard is, eindigde met een trap van meer dan 1100 treden... Blackheath is een vriendelijk en rustig dorp. Wij waren er in oktober, dus het was voorjaar. Alles stond in bloei, dat gaf het een mooi beeld. Kortom: een prima vakantiehuis, met een fantastisch uitzicht. Een goede plek om bij te komen.

We had one complaint....we didn't book to stay long enough! The house and grounds exceeded expectations. Thank you to the owners for the meticulous care taken with the property. The art work is sensational and the fixtures make the property both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing - something we're not usually fussed with but really made a difference. All the essentials were wonderful - heating, comfy beds, clean, well appointed. A true getaway with no need to think about bringing anything.

A perfect mountain escape!We had a wonderful stay at Cecil’s Chair. The cottage is cosy, beautifully styled, and thoughtfully appointed with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The views are stunning - especially at sunset - and the peaceful surroundings make it easy to unwind. A perfect base for exploring Blackheath and the Blue Mountains.

We arrived tired and cold after a long journey. Cecils Chair welcomed us with the outside light on and the lovely warmth of central heating. Mum was relieved that there was some milk in the fridge for a much needed cuppa. The views immediately impressed us and although we had rain for most of the time and clouds periodically obstructed our views of the valley, the lovely gum trees close by were just as beautiful to look at. My dad was impressed that there were bonoculars for him to use. The bedrooms were spacious and our beds were very comfortable. All the furnishings were lovely. The kitchen had everything one would need and the dining table was large enough for a comfortable meal for a family.We loved the two separate areas for sitting in - the comfortable back loungeroom with a modern tv and the front room with the fire. We used the fire every night and appreciated that there was wood stacked on the front patio for easy access. There is also ample space to sit and look out the windows at those spectacular views. The two bathrooms were well equiped. My elderly parents had the ensuite bathroom for easy access during the night. We used the spa bath room which had a double shower with views. Access to the front door was a bit tricky for my parents with mobility issues but that could be easily adjusted by owners if they choose. Would we stay again? Most definately!

For a holiday house it litterally ticks all of the boxes for a family long weekend in the Blue Mountains. The views were exactly as pictured with the most amazing sunsets, the kitchen was well equipped, the bluetooth speaker was way better than expected, the list goes on. We completed two bush walks from the house. Highly recommended!

Nice cozy place at the corner of the street overlooking the valley. Only issue for me was, the steep credit card surcharge to make the balance payment through the real estate agent’s website. I would have preferred to pay the balance amount using the stayz website which was not possible.

Beautiful cottage in perfect surroundings. The view is unbelievable, I can't imagine finding better in the Blue Mountains. The Reidl family are amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them. The cottage is thoughtfully appointed with everything you could ask for in hand. The spa bath overlooking the Megalong Valley is a once in a lifetime experience. Simply magical.

I love it when you get to your destination and the property exceeds your expectations. We just loved this cottage, with its stunning views from the living areas and the bathroom, and the three big bedrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped and there is a separate living area if you MUST watch tv. We just watched the views, endlessly, and started reading some of the books - a great library so you don't need to bring anything. But you will need plenty of time to finish them! It is a property full of character which suits its location and is just such a relaxing, peaceful place. Thank you for sharing.

Our second visit to Cecil's Chair. It always feels so special when you walk through the door and see the view into the valley. The bathroom also has an amazing view. Fabulous books to browse as you sit in the comfy chairs and watch the ever changing view. We will be back.
