Dog friendy - and he appreciated his own sausage each morning. Great location for walking - Kinder Scout and Derwent Water a short drive or Buxton, Bakewell or Matlock - perfect break '

'After the warm welcome, we were shown to our room and all the room facilities were explained properly. The property has so much fascinating history and the current owners have gone thru great lengths to keep it all in the best conditions. We loved the breakfast with a great choice. No one is leaving here hungry! '

'The room was small but adequate and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfasts and had plenty to choose from. The bar staff were pleasant and helpful. It would have been good to have some evening lights on the outside path down to the town. The gardener had a difficult job to clear the leaves from the path. He did a good job'

'It's on a round-a-bout which means that you have to look for the carpark. There is one & it is close by. We didn't stay in the hotel but in the Coachhouse. Breakfast was very good, staff are friendly. Has all the facilities but it's greatest plus point is where it is. Although I can imagine that some rooms could be quite noisy. '
