I have rented multiple VRBO properties and have never had a negative experience until now. Upon our arrival, I noticed there was dirt and debris in the bottom of the pool. I checked the chlorine level and there was no detectable free chlorine. I sent an email to the contact I was provided making them aware that I felt unsafe swimming in a pool without free chlorine and therefore could not use the pool. I was told the pool would be serviced the next day. When I hadn’t heard anything by 2 pm the next day, I reached out again. I was told someone would be coming. At 6 pm when we still hadn’t had anyone come, I contacted them again. About a half hour later, a man was seen entering the pool area to take care of the pool. The man, who later identified himself as the owner, was clearly agitated and was throwing things around and muttering to himself. He hung around the property for a bit and then began to bang on the front door. We answered the door and spoke to the man, who at that point said he was the owner. Even though his tone with us was hostile, we thanked him in hopes that he would leave. About 10 minutes later, we went out to the pool. The owner had not left and he once again entered the pool area. At that point he became aggressive towards us and I became uncomfortable with the escalating situation and called the Sheriffs department. Due to this unfortunate situation, we felt that staying at this property was not in our best interest and had to leave the property. The property is managed by iTrips. We are so grateful to iTrips. When we contacted them and informed them of the situation, they were extremely professional and helpful and found us a property to relocate to for the rest of our stay. I cannot say enough about our positive experience with iTrips and look forward to working with them in the future.
