The facilities themselves were fine and the staff were good. But there were surprise fees ($25/day for parking and a $25/day "destination fee") that added an unexpected $150 to my bill. The destination fee was particularly annoying. You could use the "credit" for the restaurant or bar or "store" but I had no interest in any of those. I did use it for the overpriced items in the "store" so it wasn't wasted but I will not return.

Fine room and friendly, helpful staff. However, I had two problems: 1) no shuttle service to the T line on the weekend, without which I would have had to take a dangerous walk along a major highway-like road (I Uber-ed instead. 2) They did not disclose that the $25 destination fee is subject to an additional tax, amounting to $29 total. Why so many fees?!? So, okay hotel, but next time I will find a place in a more convenient location that is more upfront abour all of their fees.

This is an affordable spot for Cambridge, with pluses and minuese. The Alewife T is a 15 minute walk away, so if you are staying in Cambridge when the weather is nice, you have decent access to public transportation. The 74/78 bus has a stop nearby as well. It is not in the most walkable part of Cambridge. We had issues each of the two nights we stayed there with excessive noise. The walls/ceilings are far from sound-proof, and on the first night, we were just above the lobby, and it did not get quiet until 3 am. Until that point we heard banging and noisy doors for hours past when we wanted to go to sleep. We moved to the 3rd floor on the second night, but we were in a room near the traffic circle, and we got a lot of street noise (5 am delivery truck noises). We also had a very noisy upstairs neighbor. The breakfast was expensive and not very good, but being attached to a Starbucks was an advantage. Parking was very convenient and affordable ($25 a night), so it was nice to have easy access to your car.

Although it looks a bit dated (doors, walls, popcorn ceiling), the hotel is very clean. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. 25 $ parking fee was a surprise but nothing out of the ordinary in a city. Nice location for the hotel. There is a lake nearby with walking paths. Dunkin Donuts is right around the corner. I would most definitely stay there again and recommend this place to friends and family.

It was the 3rd time ee stayed at Freepoint. Every time was impeccable. I guess the price is comparable to other hotels in the area.

Room size and decor comfortable and attractive. Again did not like a charge for parking itdidnnysay parking fee. And also to find out it was not pet friendly. Wanted to charge $100. Could not find on website that there was such a charge. Under amenities it says pet friendly but no charge is mentioned. All reasons not to return though.

Staff from desk to housekeeping all really friendly helpful and efficient. Manager Yodit exceptional. And so is Saba at the front desk. Its a lovely place with comfortable large rooms tasteful hip design, impeccably clean and oddly affordable!

Highly recommend
The Freepoint Hotel location was perfect for visiting Cambridge/Somerville for nature walks, dining, museums and shopping. Fresh Pond, Alewife Brook Reservation and the Minuteman Bikeway and Danehy Park provided beautiful, refreshing strolls within walking distance. The adjacent Fresh Pond Mall provided easy access to shopping and groceries. A short, free hotel shuttle ride to Harvard Square provided access to museums. It was an easy walk or T ride to Davis and Porter Squares where we found many dining and shopping options. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was economically priced, especially spacious for the area, very clean, and with a unique, fun decor. Parking was easy and right in front of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.
