If you wanted some peace and quiet there were plenty of places to retreat to. The outdoor space is immense and the wild flower meadow is the best i've ever seen. "We stayed at the property for our wedding recently and had 40 people in total attending the wedding, with 30 staying on site at both the chateau and gites. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the wedding was wonderful. The area is very pretty but pretty isolated. The chateau and gites are beautifully decorated and fully furnished. "This comfortable, well-appointed apartment is within easy walking distance to the cathedral and the historic center of Perigueux. With bedrooms and bathrooms on opposite ends, it would work well for a family or two couples. The apartment is quiet and very secure. We appreciated having a private parking place and direct access to the small park next to the cathedral. The street market in front of the cathedral was a treat. "Very comfortable house in a lovely spot (only slight difficulty is the spiral staircase - which could be tricky for some). Especially good if you like fishing with a beautiful lake right outside the front door. Surroundings are extremely quiet and peaceful with plenty of nice walks in the area. Host’s really nice and friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back."

"A delightful single storey gite hosted by Mike with father Roger closeby offering helpful advice. We shared the large garden with a French cockerel (Monsieur Macron) and his ageing companions (Brigitte and Monsieur Mitterand). Vergt affords a decent supermarket, hotel, and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and it provided a well situated base for trips throughout Dordogne."
