Getting Around:
Exploring Brighton and Hove couldn’t be easier. The city’s bus network is extensive, with step-free access on all vehicles. From Brighton Station you can reach the South Downs and Devil’s Dyke, while routes also link Hove Lagoon, the Marina, and everywhere in between. If you’re heading between Brighton and Hove, you can choose from several bus routes or take a direct train — just one quick stop. Taxi ranks and bike hire points are available at both Brighton and Hove stations, and you’ll also find bike hire stands dotted throughout the city, including in local parks. Cycling is a great way to explore, with many roads offering cycle lanes and a dedicated seafront path running from Hove Lagoon all the way to Volk’s Electric Railway.
Brighton is well connected to London and beyond by train. Direct services run to London Victoria, Clapham Junction, and East Croydon, as well as to London Bridge, King’s Cross, and St Pancras International. Journeys can be as fast as 48 minutes from Victoria or around 1 hour 15 minutes from King’s Cross. Gatwick Airport is roughly halfway between London and Brighton, making for a quick 30-minute train ride.
For international connections, Newhaven Port is just 30 minutes away by train or 45 minutes by bus, with regular ferries to Dieppe. Brighton is also within easy reach of Southampton, Portsmouth, and Dover for additional ferry routes.
