'What a lovely comfortable stay. Nice beds , pillows and duvet and in a beautiful house. Tea and coffee and a bottle of water on arrival. Could have had breakfast but didn't. There's a pub down the road. Will definitely stay again and go for walks around the area'

'The hotel is easily reached by bus from either Derby or Nottingham. However, if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing in the area, it's probably best to have your own car. In spite of its proximity to M1, the hotel is set in a quiet and pleasant location. Most of the staff was very kind and helpful: one of them was on the same bus as us when we arrived, and kindly walked us from the bus stop to the hotel. 'Plenty of parking, room nice and quiet. Mattresses were comfy but the single beds felt very narrow also the legs of the bed were angled out and because of the dark colour too, a few stubbed painful toes! Food was a bit on the pricey side £8 for a portion of sweet potato fries! Breakfast was nice, enough choice. And the shower was nice and powerful. '

'You can park outside the hotel theres about 6/7 spaces but u have to pay £10 a night and they dont say it till uve actually booked but i wouldnt bother unless u r a Druggie or Alki or a chavi loudmouth with no respect for others. The photos on your website are obviously from many many years ago because it is now an absolute filthy mess. Threadbare dirty carpets, pkaster and paint coming off all the walls, damp patches everywhere, tiny rooms and some with no windows. Says a tv in the rooms , but...

'They had some challenges with the card-system, but how they dealt with the situation: extremely friendly - extremely helpful, they did everything they could to make sure we suffer from the situation. Great and safe location (not too far from the city center), and a fantastic breakfast (super friendly Scottish guy who served us breakfast as well). Worth the price :-) '

'Staff at check in were not proactive which led me to returning to the front desk three times before accessing my room. The hotel is being renovated, so there is dust and barriers all over the place. There are no USB chargers in the room, or plug sockets near the bed, which is challenging for charging devices. The staff at the bar/restaurant were more interested in doing anything but serving. The swimming pool/changing room was grubby. All in all a very disapointing visit.'

'Room I was given was visible tired but when looking closer it was clear that the cleaning was not completed to a standard I would expect. Walls were full of holes and wall plugs, bathroom accessories were broken and to top it off no hot water in the morning. Personally I will not be staying here again.'

'Although many stars given by me, my all in all result is 3 stars because of the all day long (24/7) heavily humming noise I heard in my room. Luckily I had a couple of earbuds with me that I was going to use during a pop concert, so I didn't hear the noise during my sleep. My room was a single person room, number 31. So if you get that one offerred, immediatly ask for another room.'
