'Parking was a nightmare. Checking in at the bar was awful, the bar staff were rude, didn't even look up from him screen. The room was small, and severely dated, with a toilet that faced the bath tub, and as a 6ft tall person, it was not a comfortable experience. The bath tub was so old that the white has come off, and it was a disgusting yellow with deep scratches on the bottom.

Spa was a real treat - open til 8pm which is fab after a day of exploring.

'Room was clean, the decor was in need of a refresh. The carpet on the stairs leading up to the rooms is very off putting and had me worried about the room itself. So I was pleasantly surprised. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was ok, plenty of hot water and the shower was great. Breakfast was very good and the staff were pleasant. '

'Nice people on the reception offering walking guides just to use as soon as we told we were planning to do some walking in the Lake District. The rooms were spaceous and very clean. In the morning on request freshly baken croissants or oatmeal During the evenings we used the DVD service for free. You can pick one and play a movie in the room.'
