'The cabin was very small. Lots of bugs and spiders. Ceiling plaster peeling off. No TV instructions and barely worked when we figured it out. No wifi or cell service at all. Had to drive a few miles away to pull up email with the code. Too small and just not what expected.'

'This place was perfect size for my husband and I and another couple to stay and enjoy an extended weekend. I give it a 4 star over all stay due to the 2 bedroom has more of a closet door instead of a true door that had difficulty closing at night. All new appliances were perfect for cooking dinner at night and perfect location to do the Nelson 151 wine tour.'

'A great place for a small family to stay! We liked everything about it. The stairs are steep — almost more of a ladder — so unless kids are a little older or good at obeying their parents, I’d offer a bit of caution is required. But the cottage was quiet and lovely for our 2-day visit to Sweet Briar College, especially since lodging was hard to find. Communication with the manager was clear and easy via SMS and email. Look no further!'

'This is a gorgeous house and property. Meticulously maintained, well stocked, spacious and comfortable, lovely location, beautiful all around. The house is on the top of the hill with amazing views and lots of windows to enjoy it. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen seems fully stocked for easy cooking. It was an easy and beautiful drive to nearby cideries and Cville. A real gem, hope to stay there again.'

'A really charming and quirky house, perched on an overlook above a bend in the James river. Very friendly host, nice grounds, and plenty to explore in the surroundings. We did some outdoor grilling and a fire in the pit on a very starry night. The kids were disappointed that the hottub wasn't working that weekend, but there were plenty of games and some swings nearby to keep them occupied.'

'Our family stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday, and we had a wonderful time! The house is so well stocked and every detail has been thought out. Beds and bathrooms were very comfortable and we loved the large living area. The owner was very communicative and sent us lots of advice about the home and the area!'
