Carolyn's Mountain Cottage is a spectacular property located just a few miles from the quaint town of Burnsville NC and an easy 30 minute drive to Asheville. From the moment you arrive and step onto the covered deck you will face some of the most beautiful mountain views in Western North Carolina. This beautiful cottage boast 2 guest bedrooms on the main level with queen beds in each and a loft area master with a king bed, 2 bathrooms one attached to the master in the loft area and one on the main level and two living rooms, one on the main level which is equipped with electric logs for a fire like ambiance. Not only is the inside of this property amazing, the outside has some of the most amazing scenery and vistas. Grab a glass of wine and a sweater and enjoy the scenery by the fire pit or sink into the Hot tub and enjoy the breathtaking views of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. What are you waiting for the mountains are calling you.

You are reserving a luxury vacation cabin with Pristine Vacation Rentals, the top vacation rental company in the area with 100% customer satisfaction and five star reviews across the board from VRBO, Flipkey etc…A few days prior to your arrival you will receive the cabins address, check-in/check-out instructions, door entry codes, wifi codes, house and property information as well as local suggestions of things to experience. If you reserved the property directly from our website you will receive this information in an email. If reserved the property through a third party platform such as VRBO, Flip Key, etc... They will provide you with this information. When reserved through VRBO the information will be sent to you the message thread where you booked the property and received your reservation confirmation message as well. Please respect the neighbors and clean up after yourselves.

GUESTS ARE EMAILED CODE TO ACCESS, DRIVING DIRECTIONS AND INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROPERTY. PRIOR TO ARRIVAL, NO OFFICE VISIT TO PICK UP KEYS!

DOG fees are extra and NONREFUNDABLE The pet fee $100 is per pet per stay or $109.75 with taxes included. i.e. Any length stays with two dogs equals two pet fees plus taxes which is $219.50. Maximum of TWO dogs!! More than two dogs constitutes prior approval by the homeowner and Pristine Vacation Rentals. DOGS ONLY allowed! No cats, bunnies, birds, or any other animals allowed unless approved by homeowner and Pristine Vacation Rentals.

The following essentials will be provided for you to START your stay. We do not provide essential for your entire stay. This is just to start you off:

Also feel free to use any of the spices, sugar, creamers etc… that are generally stocked in the fully equipped kitchen.

This is a SMOKE FREE environment! Please don't smoke in the cabin. If you choose to smoke outside please dispose of your cigarette butts.

PHONE SERVICE: Cell phone reception is generally good, but it can be spotty at times. We are in the mountains.

CHILDREN: This house is not child-proofed for young children. There are also no accommodations for babies.

SUPPLIES: Groceries and supplies are available within 5 to 10 miles, but we suggest guests bring what they may need for immediate use so they can stay and relax on the property for their first meals, if so desired.

FIRES: Guests are welcome to use the fire pit year-round. However, we do not provide firewood. You can purchase this at many of the local convenience stations, local grocery stores or Walmart. It's generally around $5 per bundle.

NO SMOKING POLICY due to guest and owner allergies. You will be charged an extra cleaning fee of $200 if you smoke inside the cabin. If you smoke outside please dispose of your cigarette butts properly.

We had a wonderful week in Burnsville. The house was wonderful and we loved the view from the deck. The house had everything we needed to cook and grill. I highly recommend this house for a family- lots of room to relax. The drive to Asheville wasn’t too far and we really enjoyed the Snapdragon restaurant in Burnsville.

This was a great spot for my wife and I to relax in the hot tub enjoying beautiful mountain views after putting our toddler and baby down. Great location set off in the hills, close to cute town (Burnsville), and near Asheville as well as great hiking.

We loved our time at Carolyn’s Cottage! My husband and I took my parents to Burnsville for a long weekend. The house was so bright and airy and the views were fantastic. The house was well equipped and we lacked for nothing. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed at Carolyn’s cottage for the second time!! We love it there so much. They do everything in their power to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This property was in a great location as we had activities planned in several cities around Ashville. There was more than enough room for our family of 5 and the beds were very comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensil/pans as well as spices. There was soap in the showers, kitchen and even laundry detergent by the washer. Hot tub was lovely and the fire pit was nice to sit around in the evenings. The porch has a great view of the mountains and can catch the sun set. We would definately rent this gem again.

We all enjoyed our trip this weekend. The house was immaculate and everything we wanted it to be. The views were spectacular. We were far enough away to feel secluded but close enough to Asheville that it was not a long drive. I highly recommend anyone looking for a stay to come to this house.

We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well stocked, which was wonderful as we stayed inside for a couple days due to the rain. Hot tub, sauna, and firepit were all amazing! 2 cautions- 1st- the driveway is super scary! It's a hard right switch back, with some moss and broken asphault. Make sure your tires are good and breaks arent warn. 2nd- there's no garbage pick up. If you're going to be there for 5 days, over a holiday and cooking at the house, be aware that you can only leave 2 bags of trash. We had 5 bags of trash and learned once we got there that there was no trash cans and no garbage pick up and if you have 5 or more bags you have to leave $35 cash when you go. We dont travel with cadh, but luckily our kids each got $20 cash for Christmas. So we had to leave $40 and now we have to pay our kids back. All in all, it was a great stay, the house and property was beautiful.

We loved location of this house up a steep drive, but away from everybody the views were spectacular. After a day of hiking the surrounding communities, Mount Mitchell Pisgua national forest, we come home to a hot tub. It was wonderful.

The property is beautiful! We loved the amazing views.. and how peaceful and serine the area is. The cottage itself was very well maintained and clean. The management is very tentative and guest friendly.. It was an amazing getaway for the entire family.

We enjoyed our time at Carolyn's cottage. The house was very well maintained, clean, and well stocked. We were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking equipment. There was some issue with the wifi and some lights being out when we arrived (probably from a breaker problem), but this was fixed within 24 hours. The management company was very quick to respond and send out maintenance even on a holiday weekend. My only suggestion- I didn't realize from the listing that the king size bed was located in an open loft without a door. It is still rather private and tucked back away from the stairs (probably 20 ft), but still made it challenging to sleep once other family members were awake. Just something that could have been clarified further. Overall- great stay!

So, the house was great. Great views, great location. Also, clean. The musty smell could have been from a refrigerator problem. Either way the problem should have been caught before arrival. Huge problem. The hot tub didn't work. False advertising. So many pictures of a broken hot tub. Leaves were in the water intakes and filter. This was never maintenance before our stay. This was one of the reasons I rented this property and the hot tub jets didn't work. The heat worked. Property in the area without hot tubs go for 50 to 100 dollars less a night. In this situation we didn't get what we paid for. Property management company sends out a lot of pre written information. Several times I respond and ask questions with no response. They also didn't seem to care I was going to leave a bad review. They never responded to that message. I spent pretty nice amount for 3 nights. I ask for a small percentage back for the non working hot tub. And no reply. Shame on them. Let the truth be known. Poor Property management.

We enjoyed our time at the cottage even though the weather didn't quite cooperate. There was plenty to do indoors! We found it very cool that we drove almost 8 hours to find that most of the beer glasses in the cabinet are collected from where we live in Indiana. The hot tub was amazing as well as the firepit. It was also a delight to hear the cows and donkeys in the distance. Would love to visit again!
