'The property is 400 yrs old so expect things to be uneven. The current owners have only been there a few years so maybe they still have work to do. The bedrooms are described on the website as "stylish "....I would say plain. The bedding was clean, bathroom ok but it was difficult to get the shower to the right temperature...it was either boiling or cold. Room 5 had a frosted window but it was hot so we had it open. The room could do with a slight update....e.g. more plug sockets and a bigger...

'the Talbot was a little tired ( although it was erected in the middle fifteenth century ), quite quirky, sloping floors, in need of a refurb. Manager Craig was a great host, bar staff Darren & Bren were also top guys. Good selection of beers on tap. Room adequate, bathroom good. Hotel position is a great spot for exploring the area.'

'Nice hotel just needs ripped wallpaper replaced ,hallways looked shabby.Room just ok, no wardrobe just a hook on a very squeaky bathroom door.Wasnt told our room key also unlocked main front door so was locked out for 10 minutes at 11.45pm.Staff nice & breakfast very tasty .Gardens also nice'

'Parking can be a problem if arriving later in the evening. Follow instructions given by owners. Breakfast is great staff friendly and helpful. Keep entry instructions handy as had a little trouble finding codes. Rooms 7 and 8 are not where you'd think !'

'All of the above I was particularly impressed that when I asked about getting a taxi to a concert about 6 miles away that the staff gave me the number for a shuttle bus that would pick us up from the pub and take us to the concert and bring us back again so that was a huge surprise and a really big help'

'Gorgeous lodge that is really remote that it feels like a little private area. Very clean, close to other food places. Hot tub so lovely and warm. Nicely fenced off or closed off with hedges.'
