Bij aankomst aan dit verblijf vertelde de gastvrouw ons dat onze kamer niet ter beschikking was, omdat er een boiler zou zijn gesprongen. Wij hebben de kamer niet kunnen bekijken. Niemand had enige moeite gedaan om ons hiervan op de hoogte te brengen, wij werden dus compleet verrast. Zij stuurde ons door naar een nabijgelegen verblijf (Lovane guest house), dat ook in orde was, maar minder mooi. Bij onze aankomst daar viel de eigenares uit de lucht: zij had wel enkele namen doorgekregen van Cultivar, maar niet de onze. Het sceptisisme van deze eigenares sprak boekdelen; het was blijkbaar niet de eerste keer dat zoiets gebeurde bij Cultivar guest lodge en dat zij (bij Lovane) de mensen maar moesten opvangen. Over deze mensen bij Lovane niets dan goeds: zij hebben ons een mooie kamer gegeven en hun uiterste best gedaan om ons te depanneren..... Aan de afrekeningen zag ik dat Cultivar gewoon onze rekening gedebiteerd heeft, en dat wij (gelukkig, want je weet maar nooit...) geen extra rekening hebben gekregen van Lovane. Maar dat daar iets niet correct was bij Cultivar guest lodge, daar zijn wij wel van overtuigd. Alleen kan je op zo'n moment bitter weinig doen en mag je blij zijn dat je een slaapplaats hebt. Het was tenslotte kerstvakantie, en dus in Zuid Afrika behoorlijk druk.

They had booked a wedding on the day we booked . There was NO notification of this when we booked . We booked this place in the country side for Peace & Quiet. Facilities were limited due to the wedding. Our room was under the wedding reception . Very POOR Disclosure of What is Actually happening !!

Our website clearly shows that we are a wedding venue and this is mostly happening on the weekends. We also do notify our guests of the wedding events and leave a note in the guest rooms of the times the event will be taking place. We have 2 swimming pools and ample garden space for both our in house lodge guests and wedding event guests as well. By 10pm music levels are turned down and at 11pm the event is over. Our team is also at reception throughout the day and night to speak to should you have any questions, complaints or are unsure about anything. We really would have preferred you come and speak to us during the day or upon departure. We do understand if you unsatisfied and for this offer our sincere apologies. Kind regards

Toller Aufenthalt in der Nähe von Stellenbosch
Sehr schöne, grosszügige Gartenanlage mit 2 Swimmingpools und bequemen Liegestühlen. Die Sicht auf die umliegende Landschaft ist sehr schön! Die Zimmer sind grosszügig und gut eingerichtet, alles sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist gut. Die Angestellten sind freundlich. Zu empfehlen: Miete eines Fahrrades zum Entdecken der umliegenden Weingüter. Nach Stellenbosch sind es nur 10-15 Fahrminuten. Sehr erholsam.

We stayed for 2 nights at cultivar. The staff are really friendly and it feels very much like a family business. We didn’t use the pool or grounds as it was cold unfortunately, but they are well kept and the pool looks lovely.

What a misleading place! Amazing photos of the exterior and the luxurious suite, then you get there and we are greeted by a guy in a raggedy old shirt and flip flops. Room was crappy. ZERO soap. No one offered to assist with the bags. Bed was awful. Grounds are beautiful but unfortunately you can’t sleep outside. Service was the absolute worst. I will not recommend this hole.

Dear Martin, We are sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay. However your comment that the place is 'misleading' is uncalled for and untrue. All our pictures accurately reflect our interior and exterior areas. We had contacted you regarding your arrival time and had no response from you at all. As you arrived late and we do not have a 24 hour reception desk you were showed to the room by our night guard. I do apologies for his appearance and that he did not assist you with your luggage; this has been addressed with the staff member. We are available to assist guests at any time and an after hour number is provided in each room for you to easily contact us should you require assistance or to report bad service. We were not contacted at all by you during your stay for any assistance instead you arrived at the reception desk to check out and very impolitely mentioned you were not happy, chucked the keys on the desk and gave us no chance to discuss anything further as you stomped off. We most certainly have both body wash for our showers and hand wash at our basins in each of our rooms and yours definitely had it as well. We pride ourselves in providing good service by following through with solutions should our guests have any concerns during their stay. We have many happy returning guests who absolutely love Cultivar and leave accurate reviews. It is unfortunate that you did not give us the opportunity to change your perception of Cultivar Guest Lodge during your stay. Kind regards

Fabulous quiet, relaxing stay in good location
We had a wonderful, very spacious room with a lovely furnished patio. The bed was huge, super comfy and great bedding. The bathroom was also large, great shower, double basins, very clean. Caution: be careful of slippery shower floor when wet and soapy!! The views from the room and patio are fabulous - only green countryside and mountains! The service was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but nothing special. The location is very quiet but close enough to reach Stellenbosch and amenities in ca. 10 minutes.

The grounds are impeccable, pool is nice and the rooms are also pleasant, with views to the gardens. The water pressure in the room isn't great and the decor needs an update, the overstuffed chairs are smelly, rug is a bit worn. No TV but I didn't mind at all. Staff were a mixed bag, some friendly some not at all, but overall a nice stay. Breakfast buffet so-so...Price was also a good value.

Great visit!
I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend it to friends. They have two pools, a great breakfast, and are in a super nice quiet location. It's very clean and it's easy to get an uber into town if you don't have a car. I'd definitely go back.

Stunning property...a little inconvenient
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The pools are amazing, and the rooms are well laid out. The Internet was barely working except for in the main building. Half (or more) rooms located outside the main building would not connect to wifi. This was a problem, and when asked to switch rooms, the new room would barley connect. There was no restaurant at the hotel (other than breakfast). This meant that we needed to leave the property for dinner each night, and if you are relying on Uber, this is inconvenient (Ubers took 10min on average to reach the lodge). That said the cheese plates were excellent (however only available during the afternoon).

Dear guest, thank you very much for your feedback which we appreciate very much. Due to electricity outages by the public electricity provider, we did experience some issues also with our Wifi. It generally does work quite well on the property up to the pool. We are currently working on a broader variety of food to offer, also at night.

Wonderful last 3 nights in S Africa
We enjoyed our 3 nights here.fast check in and taken to our room which was very spacious and well appointed. The building is very nice although our room lacked privacy of obscure glass but ok for s few days. The grounds and beautiful and it’s very easy to get into Stellenbosch.easy parking and secure. The staff are very nice and helpful and we would recommend to stay here. Some points we found different to 6 other hotels on this holiday are that you must pay for bottled water which was not replenished, and also the coffee provided in the rooms. We rarely use room coffee but found it strange. The inside dining area has a canteen feel but they could easily remedy this. None of these points caused us any discomfort and we were happy to have spent our last few days holiday here

Helpful staff. Loads of restaurants around. Can do a nice run past vineyards outside the hotel. Great pool areas. Unfortunately didn’t get time to take a dip
