My husband and I stayed at Villa Lia in Capri from July 6 to 9, 2025 as part of our honeymoon — a milestone trip we had been looking forward to for months. Unfortunately, our experience was marked by multiple failures in basic hospitality and guest care:
• No functioning air conditioning during a severe heatwave; a fan was only brought to the room on our final night
• Electrical outlets in the room were nonfunctional, making it impossible to charge essential devices
• The private jacuzzi, one of the primary reasons we chose this property, was broken and unusable throughout our stay
• The pool was dirty and closed for hours, with no alternative space for guests to enjoy
• The location was misrepresented — access required a steep and exhausting uphill climb, never mentioned in the listing
We respectfully raised all of these issues with staff members Marco, Eva, and Tania, who were kind in their demeanor but unable to offer any solutions — no room change, no compensation, no attempt to make things right.
We contacted management before sharing this review, hoping for a fair resolution or acknowledgment. Unfortunately, we received no meaningful response.
Given the premium price point and the way the property is marketed, we found the experience to be unacceptable and emotionally disappointing — especially for such a personal and significant occasion.
We’re sharing this not out of malice, but in the sincere hope that future guests will not face the same situation.
