'The property manager contacted us as expected and check in was easy. Inside and outside, the home was nothing as advertised. Nails sticking out of the walls, dishwasher not attached so it falls out when you pull out the rack; old cars, broken chairs, lawnmowers, old pool, old jacuzzi, a winebego, a boat and toilet seat all strewn around the yard. Also, the water was brown and undrinkable and the kitchen was woefully under-stocked. While the beds were comfortable, the one we slept in had no top...

'The staff was super friendly and helpful! The camp had allot to off the kids and plenty of room to roam around. If you need supplies there are stores within a 6 minute drive. We all had a good time.'

'The cottage is a treasure and the island is beautiful. Wonderful views of herons and other wildlife always outside the back windows! Our family of six (including four teenage boys) stayed comfortably at the house. It felt like borrowing a friend's well-stocked vacation home. Plenty of kitchen gear and dishes for cooking (which we used several nights). Things to consider: to access the Gloucester Point area, you must cross a draw bridge. It is a cool bridge to cross, but every time you go into...

'Went to check-in. Didn't have my reservations. Waited 50 minutes before the error was rectified. Turned out main office at Kings Plantation never sent my reservation to the resort. The resort had to message someone due to the fact the main office only is open until 5:00. I had reserved a cottage. This was not a cottage it was more like a duplex. We could here the people next door. The stayed up late and got up early. So we had prolems sleeping. Pool was nice.'

Sat by the creek early evening with no bugs..Well insulated to the point we could barely know the owners were upstairs… owners were very nice and helpful if needed…Like others noted a selection of snacks, spices, condiments were available, along with drinking water bottles…The appliances worked just fine, everything was clean… we need to cook meals while traveling, plenty of pots n pans,...

'The house was clean and very well kept. So much space for eight of us. The kids loved the horses. The host was very nice. Would definitely book again. '

'I have no perfect words for how beautiful and comfortable this home was for us. We had a small family group to welcome our Navy Sailor back from deployment, and our stay was so enjoyable! Clean, and beautifully decorated. The hosts were also very fast in responding, and we so kind. I can't wait to go back!'

'Key Cottage was charming and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were standout fabulous - modern, great water pressure, and spacious. The house is well stocked with just about anything you can imagine needing. We loved the location, on a quiet corner in the cute village of Irvington with so much to walk to and do. The only problem we had was getting into the lockbox when we arrived, but they arranged for someone to run down and help us out. '

'We have stayed here many times, so it has become a home away from home. We have family in the area, and love staying here! The location in historic Yorktown is perfect. We can walk to the shops and restaurants, and the battle fields. We love going to Mobjack Coffee Roasters. The cottage is always clean, and the owners are very responsive to any questions. '

'Sweet cottage with amazing views. Some items could use updating but everything works well, and it's well stocked. We had some water issues and the property manager was quick to respond and very helpful. She even brought us some water til everything was resolved. Absolutely the best property manager I've ever dealt with. Would stay here again! Perfect for relaxing! '

'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I chose the house because it was on the river and close to Kilmarnock. It was a comfortable house with an antique home vibe. It had all the modern conveniences and like brand new washer and dryer, dishwashing machine, and central air conditioning. The best part was the solitude; pin-drop quiet mornings and evenings.'
