Carmel Getaway
The location of the property is quite good - convenient to most everything we wanted to do in the area. We were disappointed in the cleanliness in the kitchen - after arriving and getting settled, we wanted to have appetizers on the patio, but found dishes that were still wet with many still having food spots on them....so we then had to run all the dishes through the dishwasher before using. The couch in the living room is attractive but not at all comfortable - the cushions had essentially no padding left in them and we wound up having to sit on throw pillows on top of the cushions, which was awkward. The house in general was fine with adequate space. We just thought it would be a bit more upscale to match the price we'd paid.

Perfect Carmel Beach Stay
This is our second time using this house for a small family get together. We have kids ages 4 - 10 and between the bunk room and play room there is plenty of space to keep them entertained. The walk to the beach is only a few blocks and this side of town hardly gets any of the tourist traffic. Cant wait to return next year.

A Carmel-by-the-Sea Gem!
We loved our stay in this beautiful house in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The house was perfect for our needs and we loved being able to walk easily to the beach. This house is perfect for kids. Our daughter was beside herself when she saw the playroom. Lots of hours spent playing in this great place. Thank you, June and Paul!

Great location, comfortable home, quiet neighborhood
Good beds, lovely backyard for enjoying a meal. Smart TV made it easy to watch the US Open. It was an easy walk down to the beach or downtown. The home was well decorated and equipped. We'd definitely book this home again next time we head to Carmel.

Great Beach Home in Quiet Neighborhood
My family of four adults recently enjoyed a four-night stay at the Tranquility in Carmel. The house was just as represented. Plenty of room for us all to have our own space and great common areas and patio seating as well. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the plants in the yard and short walks to the beach. June and Paul were super responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Check in/out was seamless. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful Getaway!!!
We had an incredible stay with two couples and four young kids (3-7). The setup was perfect with double bunks in one room and the adjacent play room to the kids room was a game changer. Layout of the home was perfect, and setup was very kid friendly. Would 10/10 recommend for young families!

Quiet get-away
We had a very nice stay. The house is comfortable with lots of room to spread out and the outdoors space is beautiful. The neighborhood is very quiet, just a short walk down nice streets to get to two different beaches.

Practically Perfect
Due to being busy with a daughter’s wedding at Carmel Mission and reception at Mission Ranch, didn’t get to spend time at the home other than sleeping. Definitely a home meant to enjoy and stay a while. Will definitely try to find a reason to visit again soon.

Nice looking place
Nice house. Pleasant. Needs deep dusting. Front door closet and closet in master bedroom had musty smells. Kept the former closed and sealed as best we could, and kept the bedroom glass door cracked open. Needs all new fronts on built-in room heaters which look ratty and don’t work anyway. No heat in playroom and in one bathroom. Five stars overall if smell isn’t a problem for you.

Tony, Tony, Thanks for your comments. We are always looking to improve. The mustiness was the result of heavy rain down here and guests probably using the closets to hang rainwear. We have hung humidity reducing bags and any potential problem is now solved. The 2 heaters mentioned had to be disconnected because of safety, but we decided to leave them as curiosity vintage heaters. The furnace and the remote control living room gas fireplace provide ample heat for all rooms including bathrooms via a Nest Thermostat. Kind Regards J&P

Classic Coastal Cottage
Carmel Tranquillity ticked off all the boxes. It is a unique home in a unique and safe area, that is especially walker friendly. We walked to town and the beach every day. The cottage, inside and out, could be right off the pages of a Coastal Living Magazine. We especially appreciated the multitude of windows and skylights that kept the interior nice and bright even on the cloudiest days. The comfortable bedrooms are situated in a way to maximize privacy for multiple couples, or like us, a multi generational group. Our party included a 9 month old, and Baby Quip Rentals Monterey (Jenny & Kylie List) came in and set up everything we needed baby wise. Once the baby is older, the bunk room & play room would be a perfect fit. The home is well appointed, super quiet, and peaceful. The front and rear gardens are an added visual added bonus. We sincerely appreciate the memories made there.

Perfect spot
The property was exactly what we needed. House has everything we needed, plenty of space to hang out as a family, kitchen was stocked up with all that we would need to cook breakfast or dinner. The location of the house couldn't be better. Walking distance to the beach and Ocean Ave but without the crowds of either. House was clean and the beds and furniture comfortable, tv and speakers for music were easy to use. Just a great place to stay.

Cute beach cottage. Perfect walk to Carmel River Beach to watch the sunset. Definitely on the outskirts of the main commercial district of Carmel-by-the-Sea which made it very quiet and peaceful.

Great location near beaches
The location was near two beaches and our grandchildren loved all the beach toys. The kitchen was undersupplied, with barely 6 dinner forks and 2 wine glasses with stems. There was no coffee grinder nor a tea kettle to boil water. Some dishes were left in the dish washer that had not been washed with the soap pod unused.

It was what we expected from the photos & descriptions. Very nice and had everything we needed. The layout was great, really nice bedroom set up. The location was perfect to the beach, but a bit of an uphill walk to the restaurants. Would stay again if we had the opportunity.

First, you can’t beat the location! It’s about a mile from town and half a mile from the beach. The house is even better than the pictures show! So homey and CLEAN. So bright and comfortable. We would absolutely stay there again.

Nice house, great location
This is a great home in a perfect location. Easy walk to Mission Ranch, downtown and the beaches. I would have given 5 stars except the owners had their landscapers at the house from 1:30-5:30pm using chainsaws etc. doing a once/year trimming of all the hedges etc. They did not let me know that this would be happening. It woke my baby up from her nap and we had to leave the house as it was so noisy. Their explanation was that "this is an every Tuesday thing".

We have a full front, back and side passages garden as can be seen in our pictures. Regular maintenance is required to keep it all in shape, which takes place on Tuesdays. It is usually around 30mins, is quiet, and does not involve chainsaws. We discussed directly with the guest and resolved to their satisfaction that the unfortunate event is exceedingly rare and we were not able to reschedule.

The weather was cold and our kids had a cold so our big beach plans and aquarium dreams were thwarted. Fortunately, the home had a fabulous playroom and a school less than two blocks. The school had two playgrounds so it easily entertained our littles as well as our bigger children. Great place to stay.

A charming and beautiful home
Check-in was easy. The house is spacious, clean, and well maintained – we thought the pictures were nice, but the actual house itself felt even better. We enjoyed meals at the large dining table and lounging around the fireplace. Our kids loved the playroom and the backyard. We walked everywhere - to Carmel Beach, Carmel River State Beach, to Mission Ranch, and downtown Carmel. Point Lobos and Monterey are a short drive away. We really loved our stay here!

The home is beautiful. The location was perfect for our visit. The owners recently installed a new thermostat and they should provide instructions for their renters. Be careful on the front steps as the rocks are uneven.

Lovely Carmel home
This welcoming, light-filled house was a *wonderful* place to spend a long weekend. It's beautiful and well-cared-for; the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped for cooking. The neighborhood is quiet but just a few blocks' walk from bustling downtown Carmel and a short walk to Carmel River State Beach and Scenic Road. We were sad to leave and hope to return soon!

So kid friendly!
This is an amazing house, especially for families with kids. We were a party of 6 (myself, husband, nanny, and 3 kids ages 6, 4, and 8 months). The house was perfect for us. The house is nicer than the photos and is perfectly located by the elementary school (ie, a playground one block away!). Plus there is a playroom! Score. As other reviewers have said, if you plan on cooking you’ll need basic supplies (Olive oil, butter, etc) because the kitchen is bare in that regard, but it has great pots and pans to make whatever you like! I plan on coming back. Such a fantastic house and experience. Book it - you won’t regret it!
