    Onze residentie is een echte parel van gastvrijheid, een charmant huis dat klaar staat om zijn gasten te verwelkomen in zijn Made in Italy-omgeving. We zijn in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van Rome en goed verbonden door een openbaar vervoerdienst om het historische stadscentrum te bereiken.

     "ResidenzaLa Fontana del Giglio" ligt in het noordelijke deel van Rome, op ongeveer 25 km van het toeristische centrum van de stad. Het bevindt zich te midden van het Romeinse platteland en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op eeuwenoude olijfbomen en landweggetjes. Een plek om te ontspannen, lekker eten en wijnproeverijen. Onze Villa is goed verbonden door een extra-stedelijke vervoersdienst met een lokale trein die u in korte tijd naar het historische centrum van Rome zal brengen. U kunt het plaatselijke treinstation te voet bereiken met een wandeling van ongeveer 10 minuten.
    Een uitstekende gratis parkeerplaats, verbonden aan het treinstation, zal van groot nut zijn om stadsverkeer te voorkomen.
    Onze Villa is een favoriete bestemming voor liefhebbers van goede wijn en lekker eten. Restaurants, kleine herbergen, bars en cafés.

Die Lage in der Umgebung von Rom (30 Minuten Autofahrt) und die Größe und Sauberkeit des Hauses, sowie der wunderbare Pool und allem voran die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft von Paola, der Gastgeberin, waren fantastisch. Wir würden immer wiederkommen und können dieses Anwesen sehr empfehlen. Wir sind mit drei kleinen Kindern gereist.

We have just got back from a fabulous stay at this property. Lovely place and super pool for a really relaxing stay. It was really hot but plenty of shady areas too. The house is spacious and had everything we needed. Paola was so helpful making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, as well as helping us with restaurant bookings! Super destination close to Rome - it is a shame that the station in Castelnuovo di Porto is currently closed but it was still easy to get into the city from a station 15mins away. Thank you!

They even helped replace my mother’s wheelchair batteries, making what could have been stressful feel easy and cared for.The villa is peaceful, charming, and perfectly located for trips to Rome and Florence, while still offering the quiet beauty of the Italian countryside. The highlight was our last night when Paola prepared a homemade lasagna that gave my mom the exact Italian experience she had dreamed of since childhood.If you’re looking for more than just a villa, but hosts who make you feel at home and cared for in every moment, Paola and Mario are exceptional. Relaxing Stay

My family absolutely loved our stay. Greeted with a smile and a warm hug. A very clean, quiet villa on the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Rome. There are multiple train stations near the area my family used to go into downtown Rome to enjoy the sites. Was nice to catch the train back nd spend time drinking wine and eating cheeses in the garden area. Kids loved the space and the grounds around the home. Planning on retuning in the near future

Wonderful in every way with a superb pool and garden!

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Paola and Mario's idyllic villa. We were looking for a quiet holiday home near enough to Rome to be able to travel in to see the sights but far away enough to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Paola made us welcome from the get-go (even though we arrived after a very late flight) and was always on hand to offer any assistance. The bedrooms are big and air conditioned and the kitchen has everything you need. The jewel in the crown was the pool and its grassy space around it which was were we spent most of our time - It was absolutely perfect for our family holiday! Paola and Mario were extremely discreet and we had the entire area to ourselves but they were likewise always on hand in case we had any questions. I really cannot recommend this villa highly enough!

Fantastic property

We had a great time! Property great, pool lovely. We were in the region to attend our daughter's wedding in Rome and we didnt want to rent an apartment in the centre. Paola and Mario's house was perfect. We drove and parked at Villa Borghese in the underground parking. About 35/40 minute journey but you walk straight out by the Spanish Steps and you can cover all the sights on foot if you want or take a tour/metro. Note the local station near to the property is closed for renovation.You need to go to Montebello for trains or buses into Rome if you dont want to drive. Theres some great pizza places in Castelnuovo di Porto. Best one for us was closest to the house. IO Mangio. Im gluten free and they made a proper wood fired pizza for me. Our whole family loved it there. Great view from the rear terrace. Massive thank you to Paola for her help and suggestions. Grazie Mario!

Située à une demie heure de train de la Piazza del Popolo à Rome, Castelnuovo di Porto est un village qui réunit les avantages de la campagne à ceux de la Ville éternelle. De la bonne cuisine italienne aux merveilles d'un musée à ciel ouvert, rien ne manque à un séjour dans cette localité. Quant à choisir une habitation qui associe les grands espaces, la vue imprenable sur un jardin tantôt sauvage tantôt paysager au charme italien et au confort de la rénovation moderne, la maison qui est proposée par Paola et Mario ajoute un chaleureux accueil ainsi qu'un un sourire amical et sincère. Truly amazing stay

Our family loved our stay at Paola's villa! It was great to be able to escape the city every day and come back to such a beautiful, quiet place. It was incredibly hot while we were there, so the pool was a perfect escape from the heat - very clean and the perfect temperature. Getting to and from Rome.was a breeze. The train takes about 50 minutes to get into central Rome. The schedule can be hit or miss, but we were able to just hop on a bus instead. The town of Castelnuovo was also amazing. Everyone was so kind and helpful. There are great restaurants in walking distance of the villa and a mini mart and fresh fruit stand where you can get anything to you need. The coffee shop, bakery and mozzarella shop near the train station can't be missed. Paola was an amazing host - very kind, super helpful, and great recommendations. Seriously the best host we've ever worked with.

A small part of heaven on Earth, complete with two angels. Paulo and Mario are the best Vrbo hosts I have ever had. The home and gardens are indescribably beautiful. Everything was immaculately clean including the pool. All of the comforts of home are available. This was our first stop in Italy and we did not yet appreciate how wonderful this place was, especially the air conditioning for each of the bedrooms. The small village is a 10 minute walk away with lots to see and do. We spent one whole day there, then made two day trips into Rome. It is about a 30-45 minute ride to a paid parking lot, then ride the Metro into the historic district. One night we shopped for groceries, grilled out steaks and had fresh pasta. We loved having the privacy of the place to ourselves, the coolness of the pool after a hot afternoon of site seeing, the peaceful Italian country side early in the morning, the option to walk to the small medieval village for gelato, a short ride to Sacrofino for dinner a Da Tonino, or the convenience for a full day of site seeing in Rome. There is no way I could fully describe how wonderful this place is or how much we enjoyed ourselves. You should definitely stay here when you come to Italy. I know I will next time I come. Ciao!!

Pr achtig huis, heerlijk zwembad, enorme gastvrijheid

We hebben genoten van een zeer smaakvol ingericht huis, de bloemrijke tuin, een prachtig zwembad en enorm aardige gastheer en vrouw. Bij aankomst voelden we ons echt welkom. Gastheer/vrouw waren attent maar niet opdringerig; erg prettig! Qua lokatie ligt het zeer gunstig t.o.v. Rome en de kust. Het centrum van Rome is ook in een half uurtje prima te bereiken met de auto is ons gebleken. We waren zelf met 5 personen; huis is zeer geschikt om met 2 families te vertoeven. Een aanrader waar we zeker nog een keer terug gaan komen.

A fantastic family holiday in a beautiful home

We have arrived back from a ten day holiday at this property. Mario and Paola were exceptional hosts. They accommodated all our needs throughout our stay. On arrival we were greeted by them who showed us around their lovely home and left some essentials including appetisers and wine which was a lovely touch! We were a party of 9 with four children age 9 months to 7 years old. The property is a well appointed traditional italian home and close to the main town which is walkable about 15 minutes. There are a few shops/restaurants closeby which can be reached in around 5 minute walk. The road/drive to the main street from the property was a little harder to reach with a buggy so we chose to drive this and park at the train station which was free. The pool was kept spotless and is at a different level to the house. This keeps it private although it can feel like a long way if you keep having to nip back to the house! We loved the fact the pool had a shallow section which our children played in for most of the time. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and thank you to both Mario and Paola for being great hosts!

Excellent villa

Just spent a lovely week here as two families of four with teenage children. A very warm welcome from the hosts who were very helpful throughout our stay, advising on places to visit and eat and offering to make dining reservations. Villa was very spacious, clean and well equipped. Had everything we needed. Pool area was excellent with plenty of seating options. Easy to travel to Rome from the train station which was a short walk away. The villa is within walking distance of the town with a choice of places to eat yet very private. Would highly recommend!

I imagine paradise could be like this

Paola and Mario are the best hosts one can get. They are there when you need them, otherwise you hardly notice that they live at one end of the house. The house is huge. There was space for everyone if you wanted to read or, unfortunately, take part in work related teams meetings. The train connection to Rome is very convenient, only a few hundred meters from the house to the station. The restaurants in the village are mainly pizzerias but in Rome you can find all types restaurants. A few times we prepared meals at the house and ate them at the big table in the garden. The pool is a must when the temperature is above 30*C daily. We all enjoyed the pool very much.

Hieno paikka Rooman lähistöllä

Rauhallisella paikalla oleva talo, ilman lähinaapureita, silti kävelymatkan päässä Castelnuovon keskustasta. Talo on rinteessä, hienot näkymat vastapäisille kukkuloille. Lähistöllä on Rooman lisäksi paljon nähtävää, esim. Tivoli, Calcata ja Bracciano-järvi ovat ehdottomasti vierailemisen arvoisia. Myös Castelnuovo di Porton vanha keskiaikainen keskusta kapeine kujineen on hieno. Talossa on kaikki mitä voi tarvita, keittiö on hyvin varusteltu. Yhtenä iltana söimme talolla isäntäperheen valmistaman ja tarjoileman, erittäin runsaan ja herkullisen italialaisen päivällisen. Omistajapariskunta asuu saman talon päädyssä mutta se ei haitannut lainkaan, päinvastoin. Tullessa meitä odotti iltapala pöydässä katettuna, ja Paolalta saimme hyviä vinkkejä paikallisista nähtävyyksistä. Muuten heitä ei näkynyt emmekä mekään ilmeisesti heitä häirinneet vaikka aika meluisia olimmekin.

Amazing villa and lovely owners.

Bardzo polecam piękną willę w Castelnuovo di Porto. Jedynie godzina drogi pociągiem do centrum Rzymu. Właściciele domu są wspaniałymi, ciepłymi i bardzo pomocnymi ludźmi. Bardzo dbają o czystość domu, basen i ogród. Zdjęcia bardzo dobrze oddają piękne wnętrza willi. Bardzo dobry stosunek jakości do ceny. Dear Paola, Thank you once again for your hospitality and help.

Outstanding Villa outside of Rome

We have rented Italian homes on many visits to Italy. This home affords you an outstanding opportunity to stay in a beautiful home in a quaint village north of Rome. Paola and Mario are outstanding hosts and welcome you to enjoy your stay in a beautiful Roman country villa. Easy train ride to Rome and wonderful eateries in the village of Castelnouvo di Porto. This will be the first of many more visits to this lovely home in the Roman countryside. Thank you Paola and Mario.

Beautiful property and charming house

This charming property is lovely as are its' owners. Paola couldn't have been more accommodating and kind to us. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and even went so far as to accompany my parents to the pharmacy and town doctor. The kitchen is well equipped and lounge space very comfortable - cable TV, Bose speakers, comfy couch, dining table. All is tastefully decorated. The location is perfect as you can walk to town for a meal or the train station for a 35 minute ride to downtown Rome. The only downside was some of the bedrooms had lesser quality mattresses than others and another updated shower stall would improve the property. All in all we loved our time at Castelnuovo and would go back!

Superbe villa

Nous avons passé une semaine dans la propriété avec nos 2 ados. L’accueil par les propriétaires a été très chaleureux. Nous avons manqué de rien. Tout avait été pensé, ce qui est très agréable. La villa est très spacieuse. La climatisation est présente dans toutes les pièces au 1er étage, ce qui est vraiment appréciable quand il fait 36° à l’extérieur. Nous étions à 30 minutes de Rome ( 45min du Colisée) en voiture. Pour ceux qui veulent y aller en train, la gare est au bout du chemin à 5 minutes à pied. Le village a toutes les commodités (pharmacie, restaurants, supermarchés). Il y a même un petit marché le mardi matin au centre ville. Les propriétaires Paola et Mario vous indiqueront les petites villes à visiter aux alentours. Nous les remercions de leur grande gentillesse. Pour ceux qui viennent en voiture, il y a un chemin escarpé pour arriver à la villa alors ne venez pas avec une voiture rabaissée.

Castelnuovo di Porto

Excellent property for the 8 members of our family. Our only complaint was that our visit was too short. Beautiful country location but yet very close to the city. The villa is located next to a preserve and you can sit out with a glass of wine and never tire of the views. But the best part of the villa was Paola, the owner. She was extremely prompt to answer any questions, recommend a place to eat AND she cooked a meal for us one night. What a great experience!! She looked after us like we were her own family. Her and her husband's hospitality and the villa made the Rome part of our trip fantastic! Also the restaurant she recommended was great. When my family returns to Rome, Castelnuovo di Porto and the villa will be our place to stay.

This place has everything! As good as it gets!

This villa has it all – fantastic countryside valley views, easy access to downtown Rome, classical Italian aesthetics and wonderful warm hearted hosts. Situated in the historic medieval town of Castel Nuovo di Porto, (with one of my favorite pizzerias just off its main square) the villa, called Residenza Fontana del Giglio, is situated just down a short country lane off Via Flaminia, about a 20 minute drive from the center of Rome. If you are like me and wish to avoid Rome traffic, There is also a direct train line about 4 minutes’ walk from the villa, which takes about half an hour to Piazza Flaminia (adjacent to Piazza Del Populo and Via Del Corso, one of the main shopping streets in the very heart of Rome). I have been vacationing in Rome since I was born, and this is by far the best place I have ever stayed at. The owners of the villa are great hosts – Paula is an elegant and very affectionate Italian Signora, and her husband Mario, a loveable and entertaining host.
