Verouderd hotel
Het hotel ligt midden in het centrum, maar het is erg verouderd. Badkamers zijn in slechte staat en aan renovatie toe, slaapkamers waren wel oke. goede matrassen. Onze eerste kamer was niet goed, er was iets met de riolering, waardoor de badkamer stonk en 's nachts ook de slaapkamer. We kregen na 2 dagen een andere kamer, die was beter. Het ontbijt was middelmatig, geen variatie. Het hotelpersoneel was vriendelijk. Ik zou het hotel niet aanbevelen, het leek meer op een 3 sterren hotel.

UNA hotel stay in Catania
We only stayed 1 night at the UNA hotel, but it was excellent. The room was really nice offering a free minibar as well. We were able to park the car at the hotel garage which is in the middle of the city. Perfect location for visiting Catania, just a small walk to all sights and attractions. Service and personnel was also very nice and helpful. The breakfast was also extensive and really good. In short a good recommendation to everybody when looking for a luxury stay in Catania.

Mooi Hotel in centrum van Catania
Mooi hotel in centrum van Catania. Alle toeristische attracties zijn heel dichtbij (cirkel van 1 km). Ontbijt buffet is super en de kamer is ruim. Personeel is heel vriendelijk. Ruime keus aan restaurants (zeer betaalbaar) in de omgeving. Parkeren kun je onder het hotel (kost wel een paar centen maar gemakkelijker kan niet).

Centrum van de stad met een topervaring op het dak
Ons bezoek aan Catania was voor een huwelijk, en we hebben het UNA hotel twee nachten in een weekend gebruikt. We zijn heel blij om op de zaterdagochtend gebruik te hebben gemaakt van het ontbijt op het dak van het hotel, dat tegen een bescheiden meerprijs een geweldige (culinaire zowel als locatie) ervaring biedt. Ook de diensten van het avondrestaurant op het dak zijn niet te versmaden. Op zaterdag ligt het hotel op een ideale plaats om de geweldige straatmarkten van Catania te verkennen: eerst dichtbij het hotel, en daarna de uitgebreide vismarkt verder naar het zuiden. Veel van de interessante plekken in Catania zijn een korte wandeling vanaf het hotel. Bereikbaarheid vanaf de luchthaven is prima middels de speciale airport-centrum shuttle die je voor 4 euro naar veel plekken in de stad brengt en andersom. Van tevoren kaartje kopen of aan boord gepast betalen.

Very convenient location. Friendly staff especially Rita in reception who was exceptionally helpful. Lovely roof terrace for dining and food very good. Very nice room with small balcony overlooking street below.

The staff at Palace Catania were excellent, they suggested a great walking tour, places to eat and were very helpful. The staff went out of their way to provide assistance in every way. The location perfect to see everything that Catania had to offer. The food at the rooftop restaurant was good and the view was incredible. Breakfast was amazing. The hotel was well updated and felt more like a boutique hotel.

Centrally located, lovely hotel easily accommodated our friend group for several days. Highlights included lunch on the roof with rooftops and Mt. Etna on full display. Lovely breakfast and fun bar. The rooms are modern and clean. If you are meeting a guide or a driver, you have a short one to two block walk to meeting points. Pedestrians stroll in the evenings along the main drag. If you want to experience Catania, this is a great hotel to do so.

Other than price point (which is relative) and cleanliness which is not negotiable, the staff makes the difference at a hotel. This place is wonderful. Daesy at the front desk is especially helpful and pleasant. They all have great suggestions and are just warm and make you feel that they care about their guests. I highly recommend. The rooms are quiet and the streets are bustling with activities.

The staff was very pleasant and easy to chat with upon arrival. Our Italian is minimal and they were gracious working with the language barrier and spoke English very well. The hostess showed us to our room and then the rooftop bar for a complimentary Prosecco! The room was clean and spacious and our view was pleasant. We would definitely stay again.

Never staying here again. Hot, no sleep, and flies. Contrary to the ammenities description, there is no A/C in the room (no cooling in the winter) so the room was ~25 C (78 F) and too hot for us to sleep comfortably. The staff advised us to open the window, resulting in ~50 flies entering the room. Se we got zero sleep and a lot of bug bites. Hopefully we don’t get sick. Adding insult to injury, we were offered a paltry $50 discount on our bill for these inconveniences, specifically in return for

Have stayed several times here. Location, staff and room is great. BUT, this stay we found that the site apparently turns off the air at some point in the season, not considering at all it might still be warm. Our nice room was unbearable for the entire stay. Either sweat all night or open the patio door to invite biting insects in to attack you. Would stay here again, but only after inquiring if their air was operational.
