'What a peaceful place! The cabin had everything we needed for a quiet getaway, and Sally was a wonderful host. We enjoyed every minute there, from kayaking on the lake to happy hour on the dock to listening to the rain on the roof, and we also took advantage of the cabin's proximity to lots of attractions. We would absolutely come again to this spot on Bass Lake.'

'We had the most amazing time! The cabin was perfect, the bed had a wonderful view of the forest. The dock was lovely to sit at. Everyone was very kind, and social. There is a bar, ice cream and grocery very close! Highly recommend the farmers market on Tuesdays! Unfortunately no fish in the stream'

'Wonderful spot for our summer vacation! We loved rowing on the lake and hanging out by the campfire. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the many gathering spaces were beautiful and large enough for us to be together. We loved it here. '

'Check in was easy. The place was very clean and well stocked. The property has a nice beach area. I don’t realize how small space was. It is on a very busy road and other tenants were out in parking lot talking and could be heard inside along with loud bass cars after 11pm. Also noted smell of recreational substance waffling in the bungalow. Not really ideal environment for children as they struggled to sleep with all the noise. We were in number 1 so closest to road. '

'My friends and I decided to have a mini staycation. I found this spot last minute and was so excited to enjoy the beautiful property. Check in was so easy and Renee was very kind and helpful. We had our dogs with us and they loved playing in the river. Just beware the current is strong. We had them on leashes at all times to make sure they didn’t float away. The bonfire area was perfect, right by the river where you can hear the water and see fireflies all around you! The beds were very clean...

'Well stocked kitchen including a variety of coffee pods and tea, all the pots and pans needed to cook dinner. Very clean. Beds comfortable. No privacy except bathroom as an FYI. Lovely pond and frogs galore. Only bummer was the Trump flag especially for our group (various marginalized people). Regardless of intention it does not create a welcoming feeling for all. '

'This was our second time staying at Shadowland Lodge, and it’s officially our favorite getaway spot! The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, and has everything you need to relax — tubing on the river, hot tub, fire pit, scenic walks, and plenty of space for games and family time.We especially love that we can bring our dog, who had just as much fun exploring as we did. The host provides so many thoughtful touches that make the cabin feel like home. Can’t wait to come back!'

'An excellent vacation rental! Super clean, tastefully decorated, many thoughtful touches like fully equipped kitchen, paper products, etc. Even wine & chocolates! The sauna was a great touch, as well as the comfortable outdoor spaces. We love to explore Leelanau, but it as hard to leave the comfort of the home. Tom & Diane were quick to respond to our questions & were fantastic hosts! '

'My daughter and I spent a week here in July and had such a great time together. The cabin is just as pictured and is such a great place to explore Sutton’s Bay and the peninsula. Lots of thoughtful little touches included (even a little screwdriver in a kitchen drawer that saved my sunglasses, and games, a puzzle…). Check in was easy. All the details we needed were provided in app. We never needed to contact the host but I’ve no doubt she would have been available and helpful'

"Locatie is goed maar de kamer was niet heel schoon bij binnenkomst. (Komt mede doordat er snel veel zand wordt binnen gelopen). We hadden voor 3 personen een kamer geboekt (2v1k) maar het bed voor ons kind was niet opgemaakt. Ook handdoeken, bekers en buiten stolen waren allemaal voor 2 personen. "
