Een reis terug in de tijd; dit rustieke retreat vakantiehuis in Cedar Key stijl in Cedar Key, Florida heeft veel moderne gemakken. We hebben Wi-Fi, Dish Network TV, 1. 5 baden met douche, wasmachine / droger, drie comfortabele slaapkamers (Queen, Full, 2 Twins) Complete moderne keuken, raamunit stijl AC / Heat, Buitendeur voor douchen uit de zout en zand.
Ons huis is schoon. Onze bedden zijn comfortabel (alle beddengoed wordt geleverd). Dit alles is ondergebracht in een ouder, misschien historisch, huis in cederachtige cottage-stijl. Had ik al gezegd dat we een schommelbank hebben. Wij doen. en de schommel is op een afgeschermde veranda. Misschien wilt u daar gewoon tot rust komen. Zet de echte wereld een paar dagen op een laag pitje bij Pete's Retreat Cedar Key.
Ja, de ramen kunnen oud zijn, de deuren kunnen kleven, de vloeren misschien een beetje ongelijk; we hebben het hier niet over luxe, maar de herinneringen die je zult maken bij Pete's Retreat Cedar Key zullen meer dan zorgen voor deze eigenaardige kenmerken. We beloven.
Dus laad je kajaks en ga naar de rustige, natuurlijke kust van Florida. Je kunt je kajaks ook hier in de stad huren en ze bij het huis laten bezorgen. Het strand voor lancering is dichtbij en beschut door mangroven. Nadat u bent gestart, kunt u uw boten daar tijdens uw verblijf veilig achterlaten. De mogelijkheden zijn eindeloos voor de paddler met kilometers terugwater of open Gulf peddelen. Kajakvissen is ook grenzeloos in de wateren van Cedar Key. De vissen die je vangt zijn gevarieerd; Katvis, forel, wijting, Rode vis om er maar een paar te noemen. Bovendien hebben Pete's gasten toegang tot een dok in de buurt om te vissen. Het dok wordt gedeeld door ongeveer zes andere eenheden en de gasten daar.
Bij Pete's Retreat vragen we dat je niet rookt, noch in het huis, noch op de veranda. De tuin is acceptabel, maar gooi alsjeblieft de uiteinden niet op de grond. Houd de tuin vrij van zwerfvuil.
De tuin is ruim, maar we kunnen geen RV's parkeren. Sorry.
We houden van huisdieren en eigenaren van huisdieren en laten een huisdier toe. We verzoeken u echter om slechts één huisdier mee te nemen (geen katten). Het huisdier moet minder dan vijfendertig pond zijn en getraind. Er wordt $ 50 in rekening gebracht voor uw huisdier.

A Cedar Key Favorite

We've been visiting Cedar Key once a year for 20 years now and I feel like we've stayed in half the houses on the island and most of the condos. But this little house is a favorite: comfortable, cute and quirky. It has that beautiful old-Florida look and feel, which we really appreciate, but enough modernization to still be comfortable for our family. Kids loved fishing off the dock, we all appreciated being able to launch our kayaks and getting to have the dogs there with us just made it all perfect. We will definitely be back

A quiet place to relax in.

A very relaxing time! The cottage was clean, well equipped and very user friendly. We absolutely loved the porch and the gentle breeze we experienced throughout our stay. The town was not completely open as we were there during the week. We plan on returning someday.

We came for the Pirate Festival weekend. The location is within walking distance to all of downtown, which is nice. The property is cute & cozy. It could use a little updating in the furniture, as some of the wicker chairs are held together with tape...... The check-in is inconvenient, as you need to stop at the realty office to both pick up, & return, the key. We had 5 people staying there & they only have 1 key. Perhaps installing a lock box, for the key, at the actual property would be a great solution? Overall, we did enjoy our stay.

Really cute cottage!

Cottage was so cute! Front porch was the biggest plus but wicker porch chairs need replacing (you can’t really duct tape that type of chair!) The cottage advertised it sleeps 6… just be aware it would not sleep 6 adults, the bedroom with the full size bed would only fit one adult (or two small children). We had a great time and will definitely return again!

Very cute home away from home

The process of renting the property was easy, check-in was also easy.Upon arriving we took a short tour of the home as well as the property. Everything was very nice and very accommodating the front porch was amazing even though it was very hot outside. When we went to the back of the property I was a little puzzled because in the pictures it shows a path through the Mangroves to a beach? I was under the impression that the home backed up to a beach where there was a private walkway but this was not so. You had to walk to the townhomes next-door go down a small flight of about seven steps and then you had to walk across a board that was placed over some water and go through the mangroves which were not trimmed back to a small beach.They have canoes that you can use but none of us felt like going down a flight of small steps and going to the teeny tiny beach through the overgrown mangroves to launch. It is a cute little beach if you wanted to get some sun. Or launch canoes. The Home seem to have everything you needed to have a comfortable stay. Plenty of towels, and all the amenities needing to Stay. We arrived Friday afternoon and the check-in was not very far from the home which was nice. I do like that each room for the most part has its own air conditioner that you can program to make yourself comfortable. They have boxed games that you can play. As well as puzzles which was a nice plus. I’m a very clean person so Saturday evening I decided to wash all of the linens that we had used up to that point… That’s just who I am. Upon putting the items in the dryer I noticed a load of laundry in the dryer so I simply folded them and put them away.No biggie it happens. I re-staged the towels throughout the house and remade all of the beds except for the one that we stayed in which I stripped and put the sheets on top of the bed so they would know in housekeeping that they needed to be washed. On a sidenote when you go down through the mangroves to the little beach you absolutely need to wear bug spray because there were no See ins biting at our ankles, this is Florida after all just want to give out-of-state visitors a heads up. A lot has changed in Cedar key over the last several years and we miss places like Holey Moley and Kona Joes! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! The Navarro Family

Cozy Cottage

The cottage was roomy and well appointed with everything you would need for an extended stay. We especially enjoyed the screened porch at night. Though close to downtown the place was very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Cedar Key.

Decent place

First time visiting Cedar Key. The house was okay. Definitely older, but had some unique charm. The layout was weird. The second bath was off from the kitchen with a toilet and sink on one side with a very small shower across the hall. There was not any AC in that bedroom. The living room smelled like a dog. I did see several roaches and several huge spiders in the house. The screened in porch was nice, but no air flow what so over. There was always a nice breeze on the dock. We rented a golf cart which made getting around much easier.
