'I booked this hotel due to all the wonderful reviews. Now I’m struggling to understand why people rate this place 10/10. The neighbourhood is very cute, yes, but the noise is unbearable. We had a room in which we could hear absolutely everything. The telephone from reception, people coming in and out, the cars… we couldn’t even nap after having traveled for hours. I was very surprised given the price as well, especially in CDMX. Yes the building is pretty and so was the room, but not practical...

'Staff are exceptional, very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is simple but more than adequate to start the day. Rooms are interesting, perhaps all different but only saw 2. Rooms are a bit dark with dark carpets so feel that they may not be entirely clean (could be but really don’t know). Separate toilet room also painted dark purple so always wondered if it was actually clean. Had a glassed in shower in the bedroom, a bit eccentric but good pressure. Just had to watch you didn’t walk into...

'From the time we arrived at the hotel until we left, we were delighted. The property is lovely, the room comfortable, the breakfast well prepared with good variety and fresh ingredients. What was truly outstanding is the staff. We felt very welcome and enjoyed meeting Carlos, Louis, Angeles. Ali and Narciso. Thank you for making the experience delightful. We will be back!'

'Monica and everyone at Casa Ensenada are so welcoming. It is a lovely little hotel in a fantastic neighbourhood. A small but sufficient breakfast is available daily. Room and everywhere was always very clean. But the staff lead by Monica is easily the reason to stay here. Always attentive, helpful and cheerful. Truly felt like they enjoy having you stay with them. '
