Rustige rustieke vakantie

Een prachtige berghut retraite in Whittier, North Carolina. Heeft een queensize bed op de zolder, uittrekbare bank en stapelbedden beneden, een volledig functionerende keuken, warmte, bordspellen en films om naar te kijken. Ontspan bij de vuurplaats of op de grote veranda schommels. Geniet van de tijd in de Great Smoky Mountains, waar u kunt genieten van rust en stilte of geniet van de lokale buitenavonturen. Met wandelen, raften, slangen, varen, winkelen in de buurt, is dit de perfecte locatie. Very beautiful setting. Four wheel drive vehicle highly recommended The host was responsive and helpful. The beds were comfortable, although the stairs to the loft queen is rather steep. The corners were dirty and dusty. There was a glass on the bathroom sink that had toothpaste residue on the bottom. Since we were charged a substantial cleaning fee, and house rules require we clean dirty dishes and tidy up, the least they could do is make sure the place was clean when we walked in the door.

What a BEAUTIFUL place to just relax and unwind! The cabin itself is amazing and where it's located is even more so. All you can hear if you're outside is the mountain stream across from the driveway making that porch a little slice of heaven for sure. Just an all around amazing stay!

Beautiful property and cabin. I loved the open floor plan. Very roomy in my opinion. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice size bathroom with shower/tub.The ride up is rough is some spots. We drove up in a Honda Accord and made it, in a lower gear, carefully. If the path was smoothed down a bit where tires have created divets on both sides, creating a bit of a lump in the center, it would be easier for vehicles to make it up there. That aside, it was very beautiful, very quiet, loved that simple things were provided like drinking water, and other little things that you often have to tote with you. We had a wonderful overall stay. Thank you!

Great Smokey Mountain Getaway!

This was a really sweet cabin, comfy and cozy and very well equipped for our six night stay in mid September 2024. The cabin is about 5 miles off a main road and the last mile is gravel, so it was slow going with our AW Subaru. We thought it would be okay, but we would recommend an SUV or a car that sits a bit higher. The bedroom is more like a loft so there are almost no places where you can stand to full height. Taller, larger, less agile individuals may have difficulty managing the steep stairs to the loft and scooching sideways along the wall to get into the bed. We did fine and we are older adults, but I am short and thin, and my husband is also slim and agile. I would highly recommend a very deep cleaning of this cabin. We don't expect a cabin in the woods to be perfectly clean, but this cabin needs help, especially high touch areas, counters, and counter appliances. The oven door was very difficult to open and was very greasy and grimey. The owner might want to check up on their cleaning service. Sometimes guest are not reporting this and the owner is unaware of the problem. Otherwise, this is a great, affordable spot!

okay except oven did not work on Bake. Oven door will not open without lots of manpower. Extra toilet paper (2 packs) were both partially eaten by mice or rats. Could not use toaster because had dead roaches in bottom. The drawer in bathroom had a mouse bed in it. Clearly has not been cleaned and checked lately. Had to leave a day early because of flooding from the storm. Glad I did purchase insurance. Lost all cell, internet and TV Thursday night. The small stream looked live a roaring river. The road into Whittier was blocked by firemen because it was under water. Will not stay at this property again. Oh! I have photos to backup my comments just in case. Joe

Perfect Mountain Vacation!

Best vacation we've had in years! The cabin was secluded, without being in the middle of nowhere, which is exactly what I was looking for. Cabin was larger than expected. Very well stocked. Not that far from the national Park, where we spent every day. Really enjoyed the porch swing, and used the bbq grill every day. It was very quiet, only heard the creek outside. My teenager didn't want to come but there would've been plenty of room for him, and the other 2 young adult kids. Can't wait to come back in the fall sometime and make use of the wood burning fireplace. Thank you for sharing your cabin!

Better than the photos

The was a great oasis in the mountains. The cabin is much cuter in person than in pictures and sits in a more lovely in the woods. The road is steep and a little rough to get up there, but it was manageable. We spent hours sitting on the porch listen to the stream and enjoying the view. We will definitely be back.

Everything was amazing . Spent the first night in the cabin. The other 2 days we visited capes cove beautiful experience seen so many Bears and their babies .. Also we visited the Smokey Mountains seen so many Elks at the Cataloochee Valley Elk watching .. Thank you for the opportunity for letting us stay at your awesome cabin ..
