'This was a beautiful inn. We were well taken care of at check in. Tall ceilings, beautiful woodwork and the garden/landscaping was stunning. Our stay was short, so hard to provide a lot of feedback. 'I found The Manor to be an unexpected jewel. It sits in the middle of an incredible park right behind it is the parks Arboretum and there is a delightful wildflower path close by. 'We had an amazing stay at Seven Oaks! Ron was an excellent host and cook! He carried our luggage up the stairs for us and gave us a bag of ice to take with us to keep cool a tiramisu we had in the refrigerator. Breakfast is served on matching china. We had fruit, muffins, omelets, coffee, and juice. We are looking forward to out next stay!'

'We had an outstanding stay at a Historic Inn (c. 1744). Inn Keeper Cherie was most helpful and a delightful hostess. Breakfast was outstanding. Located in Historic Old Salem. 'I always enjoy my stay at this location and the staff is wonderful! The breakfast is really good and I especially enjoy having a home made breakfast verses a breakfast bar! The concierge service was fantastic even with a last minute change and the room was stocked to my liking. Gary was one of my favorite servers with his kind attitude, and charm, just a perfect host.'

'My daughter and I stayed at Summit Street Inn for a weekend of college touring and getting to know Winston Salem. This inn is beautiful and clean, conveniently located at the “end” of downtown. We felt safe and walked to dinner and other outings. The home is well maintained with a mix of old (original creeky floors) and new (bathrooms) and lovely gardens! We will be back!'

'This is a converted bed and breakfast from a 1917 Tudor style large home. Polly, the manager, was most gracious and engaging and oversaw a nightly happy hour. My room was quite spacious and tastefully decorated. I didn’t get a chance to have breakfast due to business commitments but I would definitely stay here again.'

'We had a very pleasant time. The host was very communicative and the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean, but the kitchen ware was pretty limited. There is a dog next door (very sweet!) and we didn't hear him bark at all during the night. We got very good sleep!'

'After checking in 15-20 minutes early, we realized the cleaning lady had not come yet to change linens or get the house ready. I promptly reached out to the house manager and it was remedied in a very prompt manner. "The hotel is dated and dark and needs upkeep. I paid for a king-size room, but the internet connection didn't work there, so I had to be moved to a double, which was just as dark, with torn carpet and broken lampshades. The internet connection did work there, but the TV stopped working after a while. The following day, I was offered to move to other rooms, each with different problems of their own: loud air conditioning, and no internet connection again (even though it was an "upgrade"). I didn't feel comfortable or safe, so I moved to a different accommodation after the first night. The staff was very friendly and tried their best to help, but I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't feel it was the right place for a solo traveller like me."
