I booked a stay through VRBO and received an email a few days before the trip started stating “You are all set for your trip to Cleveland” and listed out check-in and out times along with the address of the property. When we got there I couldn't find any instructions on how to get in so I reached out to VRBO who said they would call the host on my behalf. VRBO representative said I would receive the instructions shortly, but instead I got a message from the host that I didn’t have a booking and someone was already staying there. VRBO doesn’t offer same day bookings, so we had to get a hotel instead. The host wasn’t apologetic or helpful in anyway. When I called VRBO to see what went wrong, they said it was up to the host to properly mark the booking status and that the host failed to do so.
