'The stay was comfortable and the gardens lovely. The drinks and barstaff great, reception great and friendly with advice on sight seeing. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a broken window pane and the furnishings were dated. Bed comfortable. The food was disappointing. I had a seafood chowder which was pretty good and the fish tasted fresh. the main was a steak that looked pale and was not cooked with lots of fat and gristle, the vegetables were overcooked. The desert tasted OK but...

'This is a really good hotel if you want a quiet location with a great view and want to relax. Set on a remote coastal road, with its own beach surrounded by farmland with cows and horses The hotel has a variety of rooms, but we liked the Premier Deluxe room which is exclusively for adilts and has ocean views, a wet room shower, self standing bath and a bedroom on a mezanine floor. The hotel provides 2 padel courts, tennis, spa treatments, water acrivities and has 2 sauna huts at its own beach....

'Fabulous property…. Everything top notch. Plenty of activities on the property from bike riding, golf, trap shooting, falconry, etc.. We stayed in Ashford Lodge which was just fine… you need a dinner / lunch reservation to get into the castle.'

'Beautiful, spacious property. Practical Details for Americans: they have a water kettle not a coffee pot, so purchase instant or bag coffee before you come, not beans or ground. They have a washer and dryer. You need to bring pods and be aware, it's a condenser dryer that takes about 2 hours to dry a verysmall load (5-6 items). Be sure to empty the dryer water tank. It's muddy on the property, so bring slippers or alternate shoes plus something to put your shoes in to protect your suitcase....
