Lekker weekend weg
Weekendje London in gedachte met vrienden en dit ook gedaan. Stond op de site dat er een shuttlebus was, echter klopt dit niet. Ja....als je van hotel naar vliegveld wilt en tegen betaling p.p. Mocht je vroeg aankomen, dan kan je je bagage niet kwijt in een depot. Ook geen gratis wifi, zoals ook vermeld op de site. Van het zwembad wisten we al dat deze er niet was. Een upgrade geboekt om dan wel je koffers kwijt te kunnen (gaat niet hele dag mee zeulen) en gratis wifi te hebben. Ook een drankje van het huis. Ontbijtruimte is voldoende voor ontbijt, maar voor diner zeker niet aantrekkelijk. Sportsbar is laat open. Kamer die we hadden (met klein balkonnetje) was zeer ruim en comfortabel. Badkamer kon hier en daar nog wel wat restauratie gebruiken (beschimmelde voegen en vieze plaat afzuiging), maar ook dit was prima. Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Dat het juist in het groen ligt is zeer aantrekkelijk. Zeker als je van rust houd en kan golfen, want de golfbaan ligt ernaast. Houdt er rekening mee dat als je naar London wilt, dit hotel niet is geschikt i.v.m. de ligging. Dat was door de ontbrekende shuttlebus dus een punt.

Four day stay was cancelled on arrival by hotel due to it being used for Government Quarantine Service, we were only allowed a new night stay and had to make our own alternative arrangements. Management were apologetic but didn’t resolve issue of us having no accommodation for 3 nights and no notice. Do not use this hotel Still awaiting refund 😡

Our stay was cancelled by the hotel as it's now a 'quarantine' hotel for Gatwick Airport. We were given the name of another hotel nearby and stayed at the Crowne Plaza in East Grinstead. We had to pay again. Can our money be refunded please?

I stayed at this hotel before a Gatwick flight several years ago, and was looking forward to returning to the hotel. The exterior of the hotel was undergoing some renovation when we arrived by taxi and with the months of lockdown, we were prepared for things to be less than perfect. The receptionist was friendly on arrival, but the foyer looked shabby. Our room wasn’t very clean, though the beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean but very tired. The carpet in our room was covered in fluff and didn’t look like it had been vacuumed recently. The curtains were hanging off the rail and we cleaned the table surfaces ourselves. They were grimy. We were offered a very limited evening menu. The food was acceptable. We had breakfast before leaving and had to prebook exactly what we wanted to eat. This was also satisfactory. After checking out with the very pleasant reception staff, we had to use the toilet facilities near the foyer. These were quite grimy, as were the doors we had to pass through to get to them. The whole place looked like it needed a good clean followed by some serious renovation. Surprising in this time of extra cleaning for COVID reasons. I would not wish to stay there again.

Lift was dirty and hadn't been cleaned in 12hours, finger prints on and around the buttons (in the middle of covid pandemic). stopped serving food at exactly 9pm-would'nt accept my food order which was placed at 9pm.

Set in very nice grounds and spacious. Room about to be refurbished which it really needs. We had a Club room on floor 3, about to have work done. Should have had an ordinary room on floor 2 which has had al refurbishment completed.

Great value but everything is relative.
The hotel is a little tired and in need of an update throughout. Staff were being trained at the reception when we arrived, so check in took maybe 10 minutes. The key card for the room never worked throughout our stay. Comfortable but shabby. However, cheap and good value really.

Staff were amasing, great size rooms. Hotel is very dated and needs some tlc; i can imagine in its time it was an amasing place. But today its very old fashion with patterned carpets and terrible shower curtain that doesnt keep the water in. The bath panel was rotten and had peeling paint and one of our windows didnt close, and blow open twice during the night. One of the most comfortable bed ive ever slept in. Not many other guest.

Large hotel, convenient for Gatwick.
A large hotel, quite a way from car park to reception to my room. I also found the heating in the hotel unnecessarily warm. My room was nice though, and I appreciated the late check out.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable, but disappointed with security coming to our room to tell us to be quiet or we’d be asked to leave the hotel, when we were literally just talking to friends. We weren’t having a party.

Overall good ,but please read above.
We didn't stay long enough to comment on all the aspect at the Hotel ,but overall was good for short stay ,would recommend to some one for the price charged and the stay was fine reception very helpful and welcoming ,well-done keep it up,it's a shame that u don't do the bus shuttle as you have the car park space although you have taxi service,but regular bus shuttle is very important as people have to get in time at Gatwick Airport and Taxi service are costly ,but maybe it's too much for Hotel to take on bus shuttle ,but please let the manager or director know it will boost up your customer and u will have to have another department with extra staff,it may be worth considering .

The hotel is going through renovation and I was allocated a modern room which was comfortable. The only negative is the main restaurant was not open for 2 of the three nights I was staying, which left all the residents eating in the bar with limited space and low tables. I had to wait over 50 min for my meal.

We were very disappointed by our stay- our bedside light wasn't working, the toilet was leaking all night, the tv kept switching itself off, there was no room service menu available and only ham and cheese apparently which is ridiculous! all bars were closed, staff couldn't communicate well because they were foreign and spoke little english which didnt help much when there was only 2 staff to be seen all evening. We are expecting a full refund.
