'We arrived early with the intention of storing our luggage and venturing into Sydney (we had a car but we took the train to avoid Sydney parking fees: the train station was less than a 5 minute walk away and the train took us straight to Circular Quay, so perfect) but our room was already ready so we got a free early check in which was lovely. 'Stayed at the Mortdale Hotel for the second time, the first was also great. We were attending the footy at Jubilee Oval, which is only a few train stops away from Mortdale station which is within 100m of the accommodation. Food at the pub was great, good value for money and good serving sizes. Guiness on tap too. Rooms are awesome highlighted by the new bathroom renovations and great beds. Will be back for sure.'

"I was expecting something different when I booked a hotel with 4,5 stars. It's that definitely not worth that many. The lobby and restaurant are stunning, but the rooms are definitely out-dated and not worth 4,5 stars. The furniture is extremely old and some have locks, which is weird since I'd like to use the furniture in my room? The bathroom was also very old and out-dated. Our conditioner was empty after 1 shower (we were 3 people, 1 person used the conditioner). We were so kind and practical to write 'Empty' on a piece of paper and stuck it in the holder of the conditioner so housekeeping would notice. They ignored or didn't see it TWICE. I mean can we make it any easier for you? Do have to mention that I loved the staff at the reception, they really saved our stay with their kindness and helpfulness. We went down to ask for more conditioner (and by that point also body wash) and they had housekeeping bring us replacements for all the products (5 different in total). But housekeeping did not replace them during our stay, they just left the new ones in the bathroom where we had put them and left the old ones, empty ones, in their holders. Otherwise we did always get towels and the beds were made properly.
Overall an okay experience, if you're used to a 4,5 star hotel being luxurious though, I'd recommend you go somewhere else since this is more of a 3 star hotel in my opinion as a frequent traveller. "
