The accommodations: As soon as we walked in we were immediately captured by the decor and the spectacular view through the window. We recognized the passion and care that went towards crafting such a welcoming and cozy vacation get away. The place was clean and well-equipped. Fully functional kitchen, rotating fans, individual thermostats for each room, complimentary quality shampoo and conditioner, and a TV in the bedroom. The location: Crows Head is located on a nice quiet peninsula, a six minute drive from Twillingate. A nice cafe, great sunset viewing locations, multiple stone beaches, and a hiking trail were all located within a 10 minute walk. We could see whales in the bay. Across the road is a public access stairway to a nice stone beach, equipped with a fire pit and chairs where we spent the evening listening to the tide washing over the rocks. Regarding the hosts: They were exceptional. Located right next door, they were ready to resolve any questions or minor requests. Due to a mishap we were without a car and our host generously accommodated us, offering us rides to Twillingate and checking that we had a safe way back home. They provided supplies so we could make the most of the beach's fire pit, and provided recommendations of places to go and gave us insight into the local history of the place. Their hospitality was above and beyond from the moment we arrived. If we return to Twillingate, the Viking would be our first choice for accommodations!

We loved the place. Can't say anything negative. Ann was very gracious and welcoming. The loft was decorated beautifully with glass sculptures and wall hangings. The kitchen was fully stocked for al cooking purposes; i.e. cutlery and crockery, glassware, appliances and some condiments. The bedroom opened to the bathroom as well as to the sitting room. Great view of the Atlantic ocean from the large window with barstool seating at the shelf table. You will find two pair of binoculars, wine glasses and some travel books on Newfoundland/Labrador. We fell in love with this side cabinet, it was so very exquisite and beautifully constructed, it looked like it was made by the finest cabinet makers in a modern design. I'm sorry for rambling on, but lastly don't skip this place for accommodations in Crow Head, you will enjoy the nice quiet walks around the area.

Oh, the View!!!
Arriving at the property we were greeted by the owner Ann. She took us through the property showed us everything and answered our questions. Offered suggestions for siteseeing and food in the area. There is a beautiful window with seating looking out over the water. The view is gorgeous. ! We were greeted with an iceberg infact on our arrival. Ann provided a welcome snack of crackers, cheese and fruit !! We later met Mike her husband. He too was a wonderful friendly host. We stayed at 4 different properties while vacationing in Newfoundland and this was the best. Everything you could possibly need and so tastefully decorated. Highly recommend

What a fantastic holiday experience! The location is incredible and the owners are super kind, welcoming folks. We had icebergs in the bay, right outside our picture window every day we were there. There is spectacular hiking trails nearby and the Twillingate Dinner Theatre nearby was a lovely night out (excellent food and fun).

This loft apartment is exquisitely designed and artistically decorated. Two pair of binoculars are provided for you to search for whales sometimes seen in the cove outside your window. A peaceful and quiet location on the ocean, near the lighthouse and the best cafe in the Twillingate area. The Viking is the most beautiful accommodation where we have ever had the pleasure of staying.

The Viking Vacation Home is simply superb. It is an artfully appointed one bedroom apartment with a stellar view. The ambiance is one of an artist or writer's retreat. The host, Anne... and her husband Mike... are truly dedicated to the comfort and wellbeing of their guests. If we ever went to Twillingate again we would have no hesitation staying here again. It is a thoroughly enjoyable and unique experience.

This little apartment could not be more perfect. Very clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything you need and more. The views were breathtaking with a beach a few steps away. A Fantastic holiday home!!!
The photos do not do it justice. This is a beautiful loft that has had attention put into every detail in the place. And what a location, with views out to the |Atlantic from the perches at the window or out in the fresh air and cozy spot outside. The host, Ann, was gracious, welcoming and very helpful about local spots. After our 3 weeks in Newfoundland, we look back at our stay at The Viking as the best place we stayed. I would highly recommend it to anyone and hope to come back again some day myself.

Twillingate was my favorite part of my two week trip to Newfoundland, and my stay at the Viking was a big reason for that! The apartment if gorgeous and cozy. I love the big picture window- I could sit there all day and watch the ocean. My hosts were fabulous. They helped me with local recommendations, and I enjoyed sitting on their porch chatting in the evenings. I hope I make it back here soon. In the mean time, I’m recommending this place to all my friends & family!

The condo style home was great and very well decorated. Mike and Ann were great hosts and provide above and beyond what one would have to do. I would rrcommmend this home to everyone. The view of the ocean is spectacular and of course there are whales to see. Go to the Viking Home st Crow Head and you will not be disappointed.

The property is perfect for 2 people that want to explore the area or a place for rest and relaxation. Ann and Mike were great hosts and have done a great job on setting up the loft so guests feel comfortable and welcomed the minute the door is opened. The welcoming tray of munchies in the fridge, departing gift and ensuring binoculars were available were nice touches that were extremely appreciated. The view from the front window is spectacular. Icebergs, whales, seals and seabirds all viewed while sitting for hours at the window staring at the sea. The town of Twillingate is very close by that offers stores for groceries, local wine/beer, restaurants, banks, gift shops and various entertainment venues to experience the local culture. Add the Viking Vacation home in Crow Head to your next trip. What a Gem by the Sea. Ann and Mike were the perfect hosts, giving us suggestions on where to eat, things not to be missed, etc. The home is located right across the street from the ocean, with beach access for sea glass hunting, strolling, and amazing sunsets. The view from the living area in the home was amazing, while eating breakfast we were able to see whales and seals right out the window. And in the evening enjoying a glass of wine or beer the sunsets were outstanding. Ann goes above and beyond with nice touches to get you started for an amazing stay. The wine, cheese, fruit and cracker tray was an enjoyable touch. Truly one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The interior is well appointed, impeccably clean, and decorated beautifully. I can’t say enough good about this home, if I could give it 10 stars I would. We had an amazing time in Newfoundland the people friendly, the air is clean to breathe, the scenery was so beautiful, and the food was great. What a wonderful place! Ann and Mike are remarkable hosts and made a snowy June stay as enjoyable as if it had been sunshine and roses! We went in search of icebergs but got snow. But if you go to NL for the weather, you're making a mistake! The Viking was all we could ask for. Equipped with everything we could need, glorious views over the ocean (and over the snow!!), wine and breakfast necessities to get us started. Everything. Can't go wrong staying with Ann & Mike!

Perfect. Quiet, comfortable, beautifully-appointed cozy one-bedroom retreat above curio shop. All amenities (microwave, toaster, cappuccino every morning!) with front window view to beach and ocean. Fabulous owners live next door. Steps away from hikes, a coffee shop with baked goods and sandwiches (opens late but stays open late) and ... did we mention the beach? Less than 5 minute drive to Twillingate in one direction and the lighthouse (those sunsets!) in the other direction. Great suggestions by Ann on good places to go for food, boating, entertainment. Couldn't have been happier. 5 stars.
