Enjoy time away from it all! Gather your family and friends at this secluded lakefront home. Beautiful views of the lake from the patio, the covered porch and the fire pit. Plenty of seating on both levels for everyone to sit outside. Propane fire pit table located on the upper level for your evening enjoyment. The wood fire pit is situated close to the lake. S'mores, anyone?!

You enter the home on the lower level where you have a family room with a 55" TV, dining area and pool table. There is also a bedroom and a bathroom with shower on this floor. Upstairs you will find the kitchen and living room as well as three other bedrooms and another full bath (with tub/shower). The washer/dryer is also tucked away in a closet in the upstairs bathroom. Enjoy the gas fireplace in the upstairs living room on chilly nights. A baby gate has been added at the top of the stairs to keep the little ones safe!

The 4 sleeping areas provide you with flexibility to fit everyone who comes to visit. The large upstairs bedroom (bunk room) faces the lake, walks out to the deck and has a TV.

The eat-in kitchen has everything you need to feel at home including a Keurig coffee maker, a drip coffee pot, electric griddle, dishwasher and a full-sized refrigerator. Grill up your favorites on the propane grill available for your use. Our welcome book has information on many local restaurants should you not want to prepare your meals every day.

Just a short walk to fun on the lake! Nolin Lake is known for great fishing. We have two single person kayaks and one stand-up paddle board available to use during your stay. Assorted life jackets are also provided.

Fall note: the Corps of Engineers begins the seasonal reduction in water level on 10/15. By 12/1, the lake will reach winter pool. Likely you cannot access the water at our dock after the end of October. The lake resumes full level again by mid-April.

With Mammoth Cave National Park nearby, be sure to reserve a cave tour! All the hiking trails in the park are also dog-friendly, providing you with lots of options to explore one of our nation's treasures. There are so many nearby attractions from Adventures of Mammoth Cave (zip lines, canoe/kayak rental, horseback riding and aerial challenge course), Blue Holler Off-road Park, Kentucky Down Under (Australian animal park with a cave - terrific for the younger crowd), many KY distilleries, the Corvette Museum, Lost River Cave and more!

We are pet friendly and welcome visitors that travel with their furry family members at no extra charge. Two dog crates are available for your use (sizes medium and extra large).

Our access roads are now paved which has improved durability through the seasons.

Amenities were great and plentiful. The house decor was perfect for the holiday season! The attention to detail throughout the home was amazing, the hosts thought of everything you might possibly need. We loved the pool table and fire pit. Didn't go out to the lake because it's winter but maybe in future we can come back and enjoy the lake. Doggos loved it here and had many cozy naps. Our group loved every second of it!

A little tricky to get to, but the instructions provided were clear and thorough so that wasnt even an issue. We had zero problems with our stay! It felt more like staying at a friend's cabin than a stuffy rental, in the best way. We enjoyed the balcony, the lake, and cozy game nights and other amenities graciously shared by the host. Many meals were prepared in the kitchen, which had nearly everything we could ask for. Our pup also had a blast, and we're so grateful we were able to take her along on our trip. We didn't have children in our group, but the cabin would have been great for them as well. Perfect for nature lovers, as we saw and heard all manner or critters throughout our stay.

Already talking about a trip back and weโ€™re not even home yet!!

Without making this review ridiculously long, I have to start by saying that our family chose to do something different this year. For the past 14 years, we have always vacationed at the beach with our kids, so choosing a lake location was risky for us as parents. However, we all had such a blast that the kids are already asking to come back again next year! We swam, we kayaked, fished, and went out on our little boat. Spent many nights playing pool and enjoying time by the fire. Thanks to the suggestions from the welcome book at the house, we booked horseback rides for the last day and itโ€™s something weโ€™ll never forget! I also need to mention how great it was to bring our dogs along, who are also family, and enjoy our time with them. The house is amazing. It has everything you need and we cooked all but one meal there. The owners are very responsive and I thank them for sharing their property with us!

Awesome property and Hosts

The communication is excellent. All questions answered quickly and kind. I even received an update to a previous question concerning flooding in the area. This house is high and dry but was updated on the surrounding area. The house is beautiful and well maintained. We found everything just as promised and even better. The layout allowed a small family gathering without the feel of being overcrowded. Excellent stay, beautiful sunsets

Just as advertised

A lovely home right by the lake. Plenty of nearby trails to hike, and the water was right there. Lovely views. The home is extremely pet friendly with signs everywhere saying they welcome owners with pets. I left money on the table for the cleaning crew, and the owner reminded me that I had already paid that in my regular payment and they refunded the money.

Peaceful and Calming

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at this property. The house is immaculate and the owners provided many essentials such as hand soap, dish soap, towels, and basic condiments. All of the queen beds were super comfortable (we didn't use the bunk beds or smaller bed in the basement). The kitchen is well stocked with glassware, pots, and pans. The 2nd level deck is absolutely perfect! There is a gorgeous view of the Lake, and there is a gas fire pit to help stay warm during chilly mornings/evenings. The wood fire pit by the lake is a great place to have conversations with family and friends. The red chairs are especially comfortable! We enjoyed walking everyday, and we were also able to visit Mammoth Caves. We brought 2 dogs with us, and we appreciated how pet friendly the owners are. During the time of year we visited we were not able to access the dock due to water levels, but we were aware of this before we went. It was still nice to sit on the steps to the dock and watch all the birds and wildlife. We hope to return to this wonderful property in the future.

The check in process was super easy and the house was extremely clean and the kitchen well stocked. Our only issue was that we didn't have access to the kayaks because they aren't available this time of year and the marinas do not have boat rentals until mid April.

Beautiful property and home. Very welcoming when entering with little touches to make us feel at home. Best yet - my dog loved the area and there was a long leash outside so she could just hang out. The deck was wonderful.

We loved our time spent at Lake Tails! The house was perfect, clean & fully stocked with everything we needed. Mammoth Cave Tour

We traveled with our adult kids for a quick trip to see Mammoth Cave National Park. The house was just as advertised, and provided a warm and cozy place to stay on a very cold weekend. Kitchen was well stocked. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Driving directions were super helpful, and it was easy to find even at night with all the great signage. One of the best views and properties weโ€™ve ever stayed at. Lots of things for kids and dogs to do. Outdoor area is just fantastic. Everything about the house was perfect. Kitchen was stocked with tools and other items more than most rentals! Loved our time here.

Fall Break Getaway

We absolutely loved this house. The size was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 6 kids. We just hung out, did a lot of fishing, hiked, and of course saw Mammoth Cave. The views were spectacular, and the upper deck was great to gather around. Only reason I gave the location 4 not 5 stars is that it is quite a ways back and up a steep hill...this was lovely for us, but may not be the best for others.
