Incredibly relaxing
Aside from being in a wonderful location, the house was immaculate upon arrival, with a fire ready to be lit. Perfect after a long drive. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen kitted with everything you would require. The same with the BBQ area. We wanted a relaxing 5 days away, and with the vista from the back veranda, this is exactly what was delivered. The owners were easy to communicate with, prompt and very friendly and helpful. All up, 5 stars. Highly recommended.

PERFECT

Wonderful, relaxing stay and exceptional hosts
We enjoyed a fabulous family vacation at Lachney Cottage. Brent and Louise were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Communication was excellent, the welcome pack was a lovely, personalised touch and having the fire built and ready to go on arrival was appreciated. The cottage is well equipped, spotless and very tranquil. Dalgety is a pleasant, manageable drive to the ski fields and nice escape from the crowds after a day on the slopes or in the backcountry. Thank you for your hospitality and welcoming us to Lachney Cottage. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.

Spectacular
We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely location & ambience. All the mod cons, good Wi-Fi, pod coffee, great pub. The indoor is cosy & comfortable. All items needed were supplied including bedding & towels. Outdoor was a really nice touch, including fire pit & a very good, covered BBQ area. A bonus was a roomy garage for the car. Great hosts who prioritise hospitality. We hope to return.

Wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and out! Close enough to Jindabine/Thredbo but far enough to enjoy peaceful scenery! Highly recommend!

Slow down
We loved staying here. Although a bit of a drive from the ski tube (50mins) once we were ‘home’ we felt like we really were at home. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. We will stay again.

The location is breathtaking
The location is breathtaking, and just added to a our ski trip experience staying in a small country town with incredible views and local wildlife right on our door step instead of Jindabyne. I highly recommend Dalgety cottage as a location to stay.

A stunning cottage in a beautiful location. All the amentities were clean, tidy and well maintained. Very pleased with our stay. It was warm, comfortable and felt like home. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Peaceful Getaway
A great place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Arriving on a cold evening to an already lit fireplace was wonderful. You could either stay here and not venture out and have everything you need for a relaxing time or you could use it as a base to go and explore what's around the snowy region area.

Wonderful place for a break
What a beautiful cottage! Comfortable, warm and welcoming, a wood fire place that really works well, functional kitchen which came with quality tea and coffee supplied, comfortable bed fitted out with beautiful linen. Quality fittings throughout make this a special place to visit. Morning vista includes a view of the snow capped mountains as well as a mob of kangaroos just outside the door. I only wish we had been able to stay longer - but we will return. A truly special place!

Another wonderful stay in this magical and stunning countryside. We ventured out, driving to Thredbo in just under 1 hour to do the Mt Kosciusko summit hike which was spectacular.

Beautiful Cottage in Stunning Setting
We loved our stay at Lachney Cottage. It's a super little home that was sparkling clean with plenty of space for the kids to run around outside. The view of the Snowy Mountains from the veranda was just stunning and we loved watching the kangaroos in the garden every night. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful place to unwind. There was silence all-around us - made me realise how much daily noise we put up with in suburbia! So much to do each day and always finished off with a swim in the Snowy River. I would definitely recommend both the house and location.

This is where you want to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just relax. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and roomy and sitting on the front porch watching the kangaroos or at night watching the stars is perfect. I highly recommend staying at the cottage.

Beautiful house with all the modern comforts
We enjoyed every minute at Lachney cottage. The teenagers loved having the loft to themselves. The beds were luxuriously comfortable, the wood fire was beautiful, a fantastic open plan kitchen, wifi and netflix for the evenings, or an open fire outside. Everything was quality. We went segway riding, trout fishing and walked to Kosciuszko summit in the snow on an amazing blue sky day. Saw wild deer and brumbies. Such a great area to stay in the Spring time. Thanks for a great get away, it was exactly what we needed!

Great place to chill out
My partner and I spent a week at Lachney Cottage and really enjoyed it. The cottage (it's a big cottage) has great character and is very well-appointed. There are magnificent views from the verandah and, indeed, from the main room of the cottage. We cook quite a bit on trips like this and the kitchen worked very well for us. Communications with Louise and Brent were always punctual and accurate. Couldn't be happier. We will certainly be back.

Perfect country cottage
We were impressed from the moment we arrived. All was as described but better! The property is so well kept and the cottage is warm, spacious and well equipped for a self-contained and relaxing family holiday. When we arrived the fire was already on for us and we quickly unloaded the car and drove 30 mins to Jindabyne on a beautiful scenic route to pick up supplies for the four nights we were staying. We only left the property one other time when we went for a short drive down the road to take a walk along the Snowy River. We had plenty of relaxing time in the warm cottage when it rained watching TV, reading, playing on the xbox - we even got an unexpected snowfall one afternoon which was a highlight for our girls ages 10 and 15. We had plenty of opportunities to spend time outside to walk, sit on the porch, build a camp fire and cook a sausage sizzle on the gas bbq. Such a great set up outside! It was truly a magical and relaxing time away in the country and perfect for the crazy COVID-19 times we are in. We will be back!

Lovely stay far away from the madding crowd
Dalgety is a little hamlet with not much apart from the Iona cafe. The pub is only open during specific hours. The property was nice. Its circa 55 minutes from Perisher and Thredbo.We used it as a base for accessing the snowfields or to go hiking. If you're planning to visit the snow every day, it may be advisable to stay in Jindabyne.

AMAZING!!!! Owners where do helpful and have really made property so great and cosy to relax.
Absolutely MAGIC!!!, From the check in we were speechless, and every day after was the same. Sitting in front of the fire while you gaze out at the stunning snow capt mountains was really beautiful,cabin was do cosy and warm. The owners have really thought of everything, so well appointed. Kids had a blast,they loved the loft and were blown away at the the star gazing. We had the best time, will definitely book again soon. So happy we choose this place.

March visit to Dalgety
We booked Lachney Cottage for my parents whilst they visited the Dalgety Show. They loved the property, it was spotless and super comfortable. The views are amazing and lovely evenings were spent by the fire pit watching wonderful sunsets and kangaroos grazing.

Home away from home
When I pictured wanting to celebrate my special day at a country cottage, Lachney Cottage was truly everything and more than I could imagine. I am so thankful that Louise and Brent were both so accommodating and let us host a family dinner on their property, and a bigger bonus that our dog could also be there with us. All the things we needed for a fire was there for us, and the check in and out process was super easy. The sunset views were really beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the company of sheep and kangaroo who visited us! Thank you Louise and Brent for being such wonderful hosts. Great stay
As expected the stay at the cottage gave us a real feel of the countryside home. The cottage gave us breath taking views of Snowy mountains and the open sky. The best of the cottage we enjoyed was the fire place. It gave us the warmth and we enjoyed having our meals in open plan kitchen. If you're looking for a cosy, quiet getaway, this is the cottage for you. It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere with your only neighbours the kangaroos! Picturesque views of the snowy mountains, relaxing by the fireplace and enjoying the peace and quiet - what a gem!
