'The welcome at Sundaras Resort & Spa was friendly and warm. Our rooms however clearly had not been cleaned in a while. We came with reasonably high expectations of this four-star resort, but wound up feeling a bit disappointed with the state of the resort. It made a somewhat derelict impression as if the accommodation had not been tended to in a while. From the outside it actually looks quite nice and staff did their best to accommodate us, but when you look below the surface, there is quite a...

'sfeervolle, mooie kamers, fijn zwembad, lekkere keuken (buffet)'

'Apparently they just opened after being closed for 3 years. They gave us at first a dirty stinky room after a big scene and complaint we finally got the room we booked. Staff barely speaks English. Food choice is very limited, buffet for SriLankan standard is very poor. They tried to force us a Xmas dinner at 40 dollar a person but quality of kitchen is poor, also for the breakfast, no yoghurts. The road towards the place is a disaster and very difficult to reach. Overall poor experience for a...

'Bij aankomst in de kamer waren er 2 gekko´s op de muren. Het opgeroepen personeel heeft deze snel verwijderd. De huisjes kunnen nogal verwijderd liggen van het hoofdgebouw, en noodzaken dus een zekere afstand na het diner waarbij niet steeds voldoende verlichting aanwezig was. Bij regen is dit evenmin een voordeel. Ruim aanbod bij bufetten. Fantastisch zicht op Sigiriya Rock.'

'Stunning spot overlooking a lake where elephants have been every morning and evening of our stay (can’t see them that well in the evening!). Extremely friendly and helpful staff and the food they prepare , whether breakfast, or if you ask lunch or dinner, is extremely tasty and plentiful. We cancelled our plans and stayed an extra night it was that good. Cannot recommend enough.'
