'Fab trip and a lovely house. The Ashes is a cosy and peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings. 10 of us stayed for a birthday celebration over 4 nights, and everyone enjoyed their stay. There are a few cobwebs, like other reviews I’d seen had mentioned, but that’s to be expected in a place like this and the place was otherwise clean and comfortable. The owner had left us a wheelbarrow full of fire wood, and the fire was lit when we arrived. We self catered and managed just fine, though...

'This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable.'
