Christopher was an outstanding host, great communication and very helpful as well as cooking a great breakfast! 'All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is the third time we have stayed at the , " Duke of York". The rooms are always clean and well supplied and wonderfully quirky. The food is exquisite, good suppliers and a talented chef make any meal you order an absolute delight. The choice of beers and ciders definately hit the spot and are excellently kept. We will, without question, be looking to return for more stays regardless of the season because any time of year is great here.'

'Het hotel ligt zoals de naam doet vermoeden lekker dicht bij de leuke haven. Het is tevens in de nabijheid van restaurants en theehuizen (Theehuizen die vreemd genoeg echter wel omstreeks 16:00 uur dicht gaan). Vanuit Ilfracombe zijn mooie wandelingen te maken.'

'What a gorgeous house in a beautiful area, well run by a lovely couple. We had a wonderful stay; this little gem is tucked away on a quiet hillside spot, with breathtaking views of the coast and on the doorstep of lovely walks, and just a few minutes walk to the towns of Lynton & Lynmouth. Our room was lovely; warm, clean and spacious, a pretty and comfortable bed, soft bedding and nice pillows with a great sea view.
