'We really enjoyed our stay here, you WILL need to rent a car (ideally one with 4WD/AWD) to get around the island, so keep that in mind. The family that runs the place is super cool and helpful. The main drawbacks were the heat and the bugs. I don't think the heat would be as big a problem if we weren't staying in the Yurt and we're instead staying in one of the more airy tents. 'There were many great things about St John USVI, however: 1. You will absolutely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The grade leading to the Villa is about 40%. 2. 'Cottagey wonderfulness! This was a unique experience for my husband and me, which we really enjoyed. Super location so close to Great and Little Lameshur Bays, and to Salt Pond so made visiting these locations during our stay a breeze. 'Our family of 4 stayed in John's most perfect condo for Easter weekend. It is the perfect spot- easy, short walking distance to all the great restaurants, bars, and shops in Cruz Bay. The balcony views were amazing! John provided us with everything we could possibly need or want- comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, beach towels, cooler, beach chairs, large bathroom, and a spacious balcony! 'A welcome relief after an unanticipated start, Avis (STT) gave our Jeep away. With our free-wheeling plans dashed, we had to use taxis. In the unit was a list of Taxi contacts along with other useful info. All the taxi drivers we contacted were very helpful, especially Moses. The unit was delightfully quaint and very clean. 'Happy Place was wonderful. The home is newer, nicely landscaped, and well appointed with Kitchen-Aid appliances and quality dish-ware. With the pull-out sofa, it worked well for our family of four. It’s a short drive to a nearby grocery, the ferry landing, and Cruz Bay shops and restaurants. Parking is ample for both units, which is a huge plus on the Island. "Hotel is verouderd en heeft dringed onderhoud nodig, zwembad is klein en ook verouderd. Restaurant is goed eten ok. Geen lift dus met zware koffer een hele toer om boven te komen als je niet op de eerste verdieping zit. 2 nachten meer dan genoeg om hier te verblijven. Heeft 3 sterren maar 2 sterren zou meer dan genoeg zijn"
