We have just spent almost a week at Langford Valley Barn as a family of 7, comprising three generations.
Everyone agrees that this beautifully presented holiday let is the best equipped self catering property we have ever stayed in. It is in a glorious countryside situation with wonderful walks immediately beyond the garden gate.
Yesterday we saw some deer and pheasant on our walk and were pleased to find cowslips and other wild flowers all around us.
It is within easy reach of many interesting places to visit, both inland and on the coast. We've been to Durdle Door, Lullworth Cove, West Bay (where they filmed much of "Broadchurch" and which is clearly a favourite with many visitors), Burton Bradstock, much quieter and less commercialised, Cerne Abbas with its famous chalk giant, Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Poundbury and Kingston Lacy.
We've had some delicious meals in local pubs. Several times we've bought great food in some of the independent small businesses in Dorchester to eat "at home" in the barn when we didn't feel like going out again after a busy day.
The owner of the property is utterly charming and was willing to be contacted at any time if we needed any help. In fact, we were delighted with every aspect of the property and would happily recommend it to anyone wanting to explore this lovely, unspoiled part of England.
