Fabulous lake and mountain views are all around you when you stay at this stylish contemporary property on the edge of Lake Annecy. With huge gardens, there's plenty of room for kids to play while you relax in the sun on the patio or perhaps in the shade of the pergola.

In winter the ski resorts of La Sambuy and Semnoz are just 20/25 minutes away while the Aravis resorts can be reached in 45 minutes. As for Megeve and the Val d'Arly skiing domain are 55 minutes away.

In summer, there's a lakeside beach just 2km from the house, and the "Voie Verte" cycle and footpath passes the door, so you'll have easy access to some wonderful walks.
The medieval town of Annecy is a 15km away by car - a little less if you decide to cycle - but by far the nicest way to visit is by boat, perhaps stopping off at one of the picturesque villages for lunch.

This spacious property sleeps eight guests in four superbly-appointed bedrooms. With accommodation over three floors, all of the rooms have been carefully arranged to make the most of the incredible views.

On the ground floor, the large open-plan living area has a bright seating area with comfortable cream sofas and chairs around the television. A central fireplace means that even on the coldest of evenings, there's always a warm welcome. Curl up with a book from the library or perhaps get together for singalong at the piano!

The dining area has double doors which open on to the patio and the pergola, so that you can choose to eat inside or out. Cooking is a pleasure in the well-equipped modern kitchen with a central island and breakfast bar. There's also a separate laundry room on this floor.

Three of the four bedrooms are on the first floor. In the main room, you'll wake up looking out on to the lake - and doors that open on to a balcony. The main room has an en suite shower room and dressing area. The other two rooms, both of which also have great views and access to the balcony, share a bathroom and a separate toilet.

The fourth bedroom is a huge double on the top floor - with a seating area, a workout area and room to lay down your yoga mat, it's the perfect retreat. And as you'd expect, the bed has been positioned to make the most of that incredible view.

The wonderful gardens at Chalet Lomatika extend on both sides of the house. There's a huge lawned area where children can run around or enjoy a game of football, a small playhouse and swings and a petanque area. Glass screens are used to safely enclose the balconies and terraces to ensure that nothing detracts from the view. A gas barbecue and a rotisserie means you can cook and eat outside.

ABOUT THE AREA ...

Doussard is one of the many beautiful lakeside villages that are dotted around Lake Annecy. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants, as well as a beach, just 2km from Chalet Lomatika, and a lakeside footpath for pedestrians and cyclists.

There are more shops and restaurants in Annecy itself, which is a beautiful medieval town on the edge of the lake, just 30 mins drive away. On a sunny day, choose one of the canalside restaurants and watch the world go by. There are also some delightful independent shops, three weekly produce markets, and a monthly antiques market.

In the summer, try out the watersports, swim in the crystal clear lake, or enjoy a cruise across the lake.

If you are staying at Chalet Lomatika in the winter, you can ski at the small resort of La Sambuy, near Seythenex, south of Lake Annecy, is less than 30 minutes drive away and has 10 pistes ranging from green to black. The Aravis stations of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Manigod are all less than an hour away, and offer 220km of superb skiing.

Please note that, at the moment, the fireplace is not working at the villa. Please note the dimensions of the beds : 2 double beds of 140x200, 1 double bed of 160x200, and 2 single beds of 90x200 that can become a double 180x200 There is a road just below the fenced garden. IMPORTANT: there are works on the access road until mid March ant the path is muddy.
