'Was a lovely place to stay, not too far from anything we wanted to do which was great. The host had kindly left milk, butter and eggs for us in the kitchen which we appreciated! The house was tidy and clean. My only comment would be that there were lots of cobwebs in the rooms but otherwise we had a lovely stay '

'Amazing 17th century coaching Inn. Fabulous room and great bathroom. Lovely dinner in the restaurant and so nice to sit in the lounge (with no tv), and enjoy the music and play cards. It was a wonderful stay, and the bonus packed lunch with brilliant! '

'Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. '

'The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up...

'Excellent all round - food is quite pricey, but deservedly so.... you get what you pay for. Staff were great, only a shame I had to be away early and missed what would have probably been an amazing breakfast!'
