'Serious problem on phone when trying to enter the building due to the lady on line unable to explane that the room key and front door keys were in the lock box. I discussed this with the manager the following day and he accepted that the lady did have problems in explaining things. Note that anyone arriving without an operating telephone would not be able to get the code for the lock box!!! '

'A gem of a place. Breakfast was delicious and food cooked to order. Added bonus is the owner is a chef. You have the opportunity to a delicious evening meal cooked without the need to drive somewhere.'

'It’s an old building on a hill but the inside is nicely renovated and in a good state. Rooms are nice and clean and beds are very good. Breakfast is nicely done on request the English or Scottish way. Service is excellent and staff (Terry) is very friendly and helpful.'

'We werden er zeer gastvrij ontvangen. De gast heer nam uitgebreid tijd voor ons. De bedden warengoed het ontbijt was zeer lekker kortom een aanrader.(voor en door reis)'

'A warm welcome from the host, we had plenty of room to park ( always a good thing) the bedroom was nice and spacious with a small but functional bathroom. Breakfast was excellent the first time in 2 weeks in scotland where the poached eggs where cooked to perfection. (I love a good breakfast)'

'After waking up in the morning the room and our clothes felt a bit dampy. Maybe because the room is located in the cellar. It had good coffee and tea facilities. The doorlock of the shared bathroom was loose / not working well. By closing the door from the outside and nobody was inside the door went locked. For tall people the ceiling of the bathroom could be to low. We had a good breakfast and the staff was very helpful.'

'I was warmly welcomed to this B&B. It is a beautiful house set in extensive grounds. From my window I had lovely views of the garden and beyond. The room was beautifully decorated and the bedding was soft and comfortable. With the warmth of the welcome and the excellent breakfast I would agree this is an excellent 4* and worthy of its great reviews.'

'Really I want to keep this place a secret other wise it will be booked up when I need it! Great stay, great room. Great breakfast. Very close to train station. 0829 to Kilmarnock or Glasgow!'
