A beautifully restored property with quiet, spacious rooms. Our originally booked room, “The Bass” named after George Bass, was designed without a door on the toilet. Why hotel architects make these decisions is beyond me, but thats for another time. Upon enquiring if we could swap to a room with a door, we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra charge. The king size bed was super comfortable and the room had all the amenities we needed.
The lounge downstairs, with a warm gas fireplace offered the perfect spot for our evening game of cribbage while enjoying a cocktail from the bar, the Negroni was magnificent! Dinner that night was in Pikes restaurant and it was full of happy diners. Food was good, without being spectacular. All in all a great stop halfway between Wollongong and Melbourne.
