While the hotel, room and beds were wonderful, my experience with morning staff was not great. I missed an early morning call to the room, that was meant to deliver the information that my vehicle had been broken into. When I checked out, I spoke directly with an employee who mentioned nothing about the state of my vehicle. I discovered the damage when I walked to my vehicle to load my luggage. I returned to the hotel front desk where they seemed unbothered by the fact that a guests property was damaged. They offered me a garbage bag, tape and scissors to clean up and repair. The manager was very unprofessional, unhelpful and unempathetic to the situation. While I understand that the parking lot is publicly owned, and not affiliated with the hotel; if the hotel is going to encourage guests to park there, as well as have no availability for more secure parking for a factory standard sized vehicle; then the hotel needs to assume more responsibility. I am not impressed with how this situation was handled and I’ve been let down by Marriot as well as the city of Edmonton.
