It’s dated, but a clean property. Staff is great. They still allow some rooms to be designated as smoking and that is the smell when you first enter, but my room was okay.

My gf and I knew something was wrong when we were given a TV remote with our room key. The lobby stank of cigarettes as though someone had been actively smoking in there. The room was...well, it probably was clean but it looked seedy and utterly uninviting. The bed was like a beacon of everything undesirable in the middle of the room, neither of us wanted to touch it. The thought of sleeping in it, even in our clothes, was too much. You have to call from the front desk to get someone to come to it, so we just walked back out without speaking to anyone, forfeited our money and drove 20 mins to pay only $6 more for a room at a hotel that couldn't have been more different. I think that this was as much my fault as anyone else's, I suspect that this place is used as social housing or for people who rent rooms by the hour as opposed to by the night, but to call it a hotel seems a bit of a stretch, and to charge 'full rate' (around $100) is just a joke. Sadly I fell for it.

The friendly front desk attendant and decent water pressure sums up the good about this place. Unless you truly need to stay in Devon, spend the $20 more and drive the 15km to Nisku/Leduc for a cleaner, better smelling stay.

It is a very old Inn, no modern amenities at all. There was a horrible odor in the hallways and the room itself was so overdone with bleach/cleaning that I physically got a headache from it.

As soon as you walk in you can tell it is a smoking establishment. No air-conditioning in room. During these COVID times, amenities are closed. The room was comfortable. Smoking rooms created odor in hallway.

Meh.
There was no one at the front desk when I arrived for check in, but there was a courtesy phone and an extension to call. I called three times with no answer so we ended up just standing there for 15 minutes. Then I called the number for the hotel itself and someone answered that and came out to assist. Old school check in with a carbon copy receipt and an actual key. They gave me a tv remote at check in, but it didn’t work when I tried to use it later that night. Hotel is very dated and dark. Not very clean. But as only one of two hotels in Devon, choices are extremely limited. I was told this one was the “nicer” one. Walls are thin, so noises heard throughout the night from inside the hotel and out, including what sounded like a domestic dispute right outside my window. Bed was hard but moderately comfortable, if you like that. Everything seemed clean enough but that’s not saying much. Overall, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again if I had another choice.

Very old. Needs renovating. The beds are old, uncomfortable. Sheets and blankets have holes in them. Bathroom was really in need of fixing up.

Be wary of who you book this hotel through.
My stay was just ok, the room was clean etc BUT because i booked through Hotels.com this hotel would not honor the price that I was quoted which was 90 bucks taxes included, per night. They said they only recognize Expedia and one other site. Because of this,the price jumped up to $104 a night. I know its not a big difference in price but just something I want everyone to be aware of.

What a dump, but consider the other hotel in Devon and this is better. Room smelled bad, bed mattresses had stains, everything everywhere was dated and worn. Empty liquor bottles in the hallway the entire stay (housekeeping couldn’t be bothered). Despite my reservation with Hotels.com, the check in desk rudely made me fill out a 2 page guest registration form by hand.

This hotel is extremely run down and out of date. The only thing they have going for them is they are the only hotel in devon. The rooms were not clean, thermostat cranked fully woth no air con, front desk people were nowhere around, and our friend's room was rummaged thru. Will NEVER stay there again.
